I walked into my house, for once it was quiet as could be.

"Anyone home?" I called.

After a few moments of waiting for an answer I began my search for anyone. I opened Jennet's door, peaked inside. Empty. Went to my little brothers, empty. Then lastly to my other little sister, oh big surprise, empty. I looked over and saw a note on my mothers desk.

Claire

I took Nik and Mary, to grandpas. Jennet's with me, so she's going to help around here. Your dad will be meeting up with us after work. Sorry honey for such a short notice. My dad just had to go through surgery and someone needed to watch over him. But we couldn't leave the dogs alone. Love you Claire.

-Mom

So home alone. Doesn't sound too bad, good thing it was a Friday. I went straight to the kitchen, and opened up the fridge. I groaned and shut the fridge once I couldn't find anything to eat, then I made my way to my room. There I plugged my phone to my speakers and turned up my music. And for a few hours it felt fun running around my house singing my heart out.

"I don't wanna die! I don't wanna die! I don't wanna die! So you're gonna to have to!" I sang.

My phone began to ring. I ran to it and placed it to my ear.

"Hello"

"Hey Claire, did you get my note?"

"Uh...yea mom."

"We'll be home sometime Sunday. If you get hungry, just make whatever you feel like having. No snacking throughout the day. I want you to eat some kind of veggie. Call me if you need anything. Nik put that down! I've got to go. Love you honey. No Mary! Don't take his toy!"

"Love...." I hadn't even finished my sentence when my mother had hung up the phone.

"Love you too," I whispered to myself.

Time had gone by slowly. I made myself a sandwich for dinner, then ate a small bowl of ice cream. I fed the dogs, watered them, and let them out. Now here I was at 8pm sitting in the den scrolling through the channels on the television. The sun had gone down and the moon had just began to rise into the darkness of the night. Stars had begun to appear surrounding the moon, as a party in the sky began to erupt. The beauty of the night would be ruined by only the darkness it had created. Demons, made by who knows what, would inhabit the land. Feasting off of the normal on the land. When I had admitted to defeat and couldn't find a single show or movie on the television I went to my room.

Walking into my room, it was peaceful and quiet. It was my room, my secret lair. I turned out the light and laid in my bed. The quietness consumed my environment. The clock ticked away, it was 8:30. I shut my eyes, and thought hard of my decision I was going to make tonight. Tonight I meet James. James the vampire. The vampire that tried to kill me. Now he wasn't the only creature that has tried to kill me. It's happened quite some time in the past. But he's the most recent. I must see him. I must know why? And how? And when? I have so many questions, as does he. I sat up in bed, and stared at the clock. 8:36pm. Time does go by slow, doesn't it? I watched the time as I thought of James. The weather had cooled down, and a slight breeze had blown in. His hair flowing in that breeze. He was wearing the same clothes from school, and his eyes shown brightly. My body temperature rose drastically. I fell to my knees, as my breathing became slower and slower. Drips of sweat fell on the ground, as my back arched over. My body began to grow in size as patches of fur grew on my skin. I closed my eyes, no longer being able to watch the time on the clock, change.

When I opened them I was standing on all fours in the vicinity of my room. I turned and looked at the time. 8:44pm. I looked out my window, and took a step forward. Mist consuming my body as my form began to change. I no longer was a solid, but a gas. I fazed through the wall and appeared on the outside. There I stood forming back into a solid. A creature. A demon. As the last bit of mist left me behind, I took one slow step forward. My huge darkened paw leaving a print in the soft sand. I looked up to the sky, and a lovely party had appeared. With the flickering and the brightness of the stars as well as the soundless darkness of the night sky, it was a beautiful night. As beautiful as the eyes of....James. A vampire. A demon, as of me. I lowered my head and growled.
