"Really sir, you truly wish to help?"
"I volunteered already, didn't I? Now hurry up, I haven't all day."
"Yes sir, my town is about 20 minutes away from here."
So off we went, to his little town of Hamelin. The man seemed nervous, as he was constantly fidgeting.
"So then what is your name?"
"What s-sir?"
"I figure I should know the name of the man who's in debt to me."
"T-they call me Jonathan."
"Well then, Jonathan once this mess is over, do you suppose your town will make me their hero?"
"I highly doubt it, sir."
"Yes, I thought so."
"Look, sir, we're almost there."
"Yes, we are."
So we sped up our pace. I was anxious to become the hero of the town. I know Jonathan said I wouldn't, but I felt they would.
So we arrived at the town. I looked around in confusion, not seeing anything. The place was clean, not a spot out-of-place.
"Say... Um, Jonathan are these rat's invisible?"
"What rats?"
"Jonathan, the reason I'm here."
"Oh, but you're here to feed a village."
"GOD JONATHAN WHAT DID WE SAY!"
"And who are you?"
"The names James. Anyways where did you come from?"
"The Pub."
"JONATHAN THAT'S FIVE STRIKES YOU DON'T GET TO EAT OFF THIS ONE!"
"BUT I BROUGHT HIM HERE!"
"Would any of you want to explain what's going on?"
"Well too put it simply we're a town of... whatchamacallits?"
"I don't know."
"You know, the people that eat other people"
"CANNIBALS?!"
"Oh yeah, that."
"So I'm your next meal?"
"Yes."
"Hahaha, that's funny. I'm out."
So I ran for my dear life. I looked behind me, I could see they were chasing me, and James managed to pull out a knife. I looked for my flute. I pulled it out and began to play.
"You shall obey my will."
"WITCH!"
"You will obey me."
"Yes, my lord."
"Stab Jonathan."
"It is done."
I watched him put a knife into Jonathan's heart. I watched him collapse. He began to cry.
"Ah, so you feel pain. YOU KNOW NOTHING OF PAIN. HAVE YOU BEEN ALONE BEFORE, HAVING TO FIGHT FOR YOUR LIFE BEING THROWN TO THE DOGS?!"
I saw him close his eyes, so I kicked his ribs to confirm he was dead. He was. I looked back at James as he hit me on the head. How could I have been such a fool?! I left myself defenseless, he was under my control, and yet he had somehow managed to escape my grasp. And now I was to be eaten.
