The Sovereign Species Coming of the Aldokktide

It was the middle of night, the two moons of Aikross shone into the darkened forest of Slenra, which was dotted with fire and the dwelling places of the Arek.

All the people of the Nerran villages, towns, and cities when they were not fighting for their lives against the seemingly endless stream of Aldokk invaders looked to the skies at the battle to decide the fate of all their race.

Above the fires of the forest many great warships clashed with each other in explosive battles to death where metal, and energy tore, crashed, and melted into each other.

Eighty eight Verendeian warships fought tirelessly to protect the Arek nation of Nerran from the 82nd Wave. Multitudes of the drop pods and transport ships that carried the enemy down to destroy everything were shot down and given a fiery death in their specially made metal tombs, but not all of them were kept from the planet's surface.

While some of the Arek warships protected the cities from assaults hailing from the sky, the true battle and where the majority of the naval forces was located was around the supercity of Rannid.

In the dark skies ships unleashed all their power at each other, in between the massive starships fighters and drones of both sides were locked in an aerial dance of mortal combat.

The air between both sides was riddled with explosions, most of the explosions were from Aldokk ships being destroyed, but every now and then the infinite swarm would claim another Arek ship.

He was watching the battle unfold on a tactical display map, for the past ten days the Aldokk's naval forces were striking with all of their might against the Arek's ships, particularly at the Bluethrum and the ships that accompanied it.

As he watched the battle unfold, he knew that despite the fact that a greater number of ships fell to his own forces then the other way around, it was a bloody stalemate in the form of a rain of blood, fire and metal, one that he knew was approaching it's tipping point.

It was only a matter of time until the Aldokk try to break the stalemate in their favor.
