The Twilight War

Millennia ago, the golden era of peace now known as the Old Harmony was shattered. Entire worlds were ravaged, ripped apart and laid to waste, millions perished in the first month of the chaos alone, and entire civilizations were driven to the brink of extinction almost overnight. The perpetrators of these crimes called themselves the Aldokk, their aim was for absolute power and dominion over the universe. They took billions of aliens hostage then Repurposed them into legions of puppet soldiers.

Having no thought, feeling, or anything outside of what the Chadumune String Masters programmed into them, the Repurposed were a true menace who used their sheer numbers, and widespread location to ravage entire worlds and lay them to waste. The entirety of the Arek species challenged their bloodlust, challenged the Aldokk's greed and stood against them, with others joining us. The war between Chadumune and the Sovereign Alliance destroyed entire worlds and darkened countless skies and suns, it was a war we knew the Sovereigns must win. If we lost, then our entire galaxy would be dominated by the Aldokk. The peace and prosperity we had worked so hard to create and fought so hard to save would never be restored, Arek-kind and the others who fought at our side for their very existence would be no more.

The conflict favored the Chadumune, and the Sovereigns sacrificed more people than can be counted just to give ourselves a little ray of hope, we devastated them, however they always recovered. The war reached a turning point for good when Verendeian Supreme Commander Klain led an assault which the Aldokk have never recovered from, but at great cost. In Hedriun VII's orbit Migodrius Almy, and Rhessioss Takol two of the greatest of our kind were among the dead. three dozen fleets from fifty races and ninety-four nations, including the entire Verendeian High fleet participated, all personnel in the battle, Sovereign and Chadumune were lost in Hedriun VII's orbit, consisting of an estimated 320 to 390 million casualties, even though we sent Chadumune into an irrevocable death spiral, with Klain, Rhessioss, and Migodrius dead, and two thirds of our navy gone, they know we are at our weakest, we know they are coming, for the last 60 years we have been preparing for the inevitable final assault on the planet Aikross, our home world...
