i think i'll put inspiring quotes here or some shit idk (for future chaps)
"Claire, I have an important question for you," Sophia asks as we stroll to last period.
"Hm?" I hum in acknowledgment and gaze at my feet.
"Well, I wanted to ask you if you heard any news about Zander" she answers and I hold back my groan.
He's the womanizer. Typical. And Sophia has been my best friend since freshman year, totally disregarding the fact that I have fancied him. I have fancied Zander Walters since 7th grade. Now in 11th grade, Sophia, my best friend, finally gains an interest in him. Why wouldn't she? I mean Zander is the perfect guy. Other than he sleeps with every girl in the school.
7th grade:
I read a book on my porch as I heard somebody call my name from across the street. I look up and see Zander Walters smiling over at me.
"Are you gonna come over to do the project?" He yells from his house.
I put down my book, "yeah, hold on" I say and run over there.
"We have to work on the planets," he says and grins, "I may also have secret information that my mom is baking brownies!"
"Hell yeah, let's do that project," I say and we run inside the house.
We giggle as we run into his room. I look around, seeing that he has all the art supplies out for us to make our diagram of the solar system.
I grin, space is my favorite topic.
"So when are those brownies gonna appear?" I ask and he smiles.
"After you help me finish this!" He replies and starts to lay out the paper.
I groan, "That will take forever, Zander." I exclaim
"Too bad, we might as well start." He says and starts painting crumbled up pieces of paper.
"Just one?" I ask after a while and he shakes his head.
I put down my painting brush and run down the stairs, "Mrs. Walters, may I please have a brownie?" I yell and hear footsteps behind me.
I look behind me and see Zander chasing me. I squeal and run around the house, while giggles fill the air.
Little 7th grade me, so stupid. It's not like somebody like Zander Walters would actually like me. Let alone, talk to me anymore.
7th grade was different. I don't think we have spoken more than three words to each other within the span of 2 years.
"Have you been listening?" Sophia asks, a little annoyed.
"No," I say bluntly and enter our class. I realize I'm being a little moodier than I should be with Sophia, but can you blame me?
After a while, the door opens and the teacher doesn't even acknowledge that Zander Walters is walking in 20 minutes late.
It has basically become a routine. The teachers don't really bother anymore, there's nothing you can do to help this kid not be late. He sits next to me, but never speaks to me. He mostly sits in the back to text on his mobile and to talk with his friends on the other side of him. It's cool since I would probably freeze up if he ever decided to talk to me.
The period goes by quickly and once the bells ring, I'm out of that hell hole.
I walk home every day, so it takes me about 20 minutes to get home. By the time I get there, Zander is already home because he has a car. Lucky. I can always see his black BMW in the driveway.
I primarily live alone because my mom is always on business trips and my dad... well I don't know where he is most of the time. I deal with it since I'd rather have this than parents who were too strict to even let me hang out with friends.
Not that I have any friends. Mostly just Sophia, but she is more into the popular crowd. She's a cheerleader and chooses to sit with me in the cafeteria, but I can tell every day that she wants to sit with them.
I go straight up to my room and plan on doing at least some homework but end up falling asleep on my bed instead.
-
I wake up to my phone buzzing.
"Hello?" I ask with a groggy voice.
"GOSH FINALLY" Sophia screams through the phone, "I called you a million times. I wanted to know if you got home ok."
"Yeah, why?" I ask, she never called me to ask if I got home.
"There was something on the news. Somebody got robbed down the block from you" She replies and I smooth down my bed head.
"Oh, well I'm fine," I say and let out a little yawn.
"So is he home?" She asks after a moment of silence.
"Hold on," I say, already knowing who she's referring to. I hop off of my bed, looking out the window. Before I can get to my front window, facing Zander's house, I see something out of the corner of my eye.
A person in the house right next to me. Staring at me through my side window. This might not sound so weird, but nobody has lived in that house for over 10 years.
I let out a scream and fall to the floor. I hear a chuckle from above, forgetting that I always leave my side window open.
I let out a groan of my head hitting the ground and stand back up, looking at the mysterious guy.
"So, hey new neighbor" He speaks.
k hope you enjoyed the first chap my dudes
