Tell-tale Past

Hi. Ignore the elf ears. Hinata's aunt.

Sailing through the sky, Hinata and the mysterious man eventually reached the edge of the atmosphere. Hinata eyes widened in fear as the got closer and closer to space.

Was he trying to kill them? He was clearly insane. They had no protection from the lack of oxygen and coldness on the skies above.

Finally reaching space Hinata held her breath in a useless effort to stay alive. They would surely die. Closing her eyes and letting in the light she relaxed her muscles and prepared to take in a painful breath. Before she could let go of the oxygen in her lungs she heard a voice.

"Stop holding your breath, you'll knock yourself out."

Wait. What?

"I mean really, for a chosen one it's quite sad that you couldn't hold it longer but still there was no need."

Looking around Hinata saw that they were surrounded by a glowing orange bubble-like shield. Realizing that, she released her breath. Safe. She was safe. Now there were only a couple more worries:

#1: Who is this guy?

#2: Why was he taking her

#3: Why the heck were they floating in the middle of SPACE!

Pushing her thoughts aside she decided to focus on one thing at a time. Tugging on his shirt she decided to tackle her first question and continue from there.

Feeling a tug on his shirt he looked down at the small girl who he was caring in his arms at the moment. Her eyes, although wavering, screamed 'tell me exactly who you are, where you taking me, and why are we in space!'

"G-gomen but," she started, "w-who are you?"

Was this shy, timid girl really the savior of his people? The daughter of the bold and resilient, Hikari? He couldn't believe it but he must. The girl was giving him a look that implied he better start answering soon.

Sighing, he complied with the girl's demand," My name is Ryaui and I was a close friend of your mother and aunt when they were younger."

The girl looked back at him perplexed. But she quickly shook it off, ready to ask him another question. Inhaling a deep breath she continued.

"N-now, why are y-you taking me, R-Ryaui?"

Looking at the girl he tried to find a way to describe all of this to her. His face scrunched up as he tried to remember the past events, it all happened in a blur really. Realising a breath, he gave her the answer to her question.

"Years ago, before you were born, even before your mother and aunt were born, The Moon Colony and the Sun Colony were two peaceful lands living among the stars. The Moon Colony called themselves the Hji, while the Sun Colony called themselves the Haiti. Both lands were ruled by the Sora, the ruler of the skies. At the time the Sora fell ill and chaos was spread over the colonies until she died. Before she could though, she had one of her most loyal servants give the people of both lands a message, 'The one that is able to unite the Sun and Moon shall become the next Sora.' The Hji and Haiti were led to believe that the child born on the day of the Fire Moon. When they went to the Sora to confirm she complied, 'The child shall cause a Fire Moon upon their birth, and when that happens it will not go according to plan. The Fire Moon will be unnatural and the mother shall die. When the natural uniting does come, you must place the child and their protectors under its light. It shall grant them great power for them to use to unite us.' She also said how 'On the day of the next Ice Sun, three meteors shall fall into its icy shell containing the three children-my children-destined to protect guard the child of the Fire Moon, the ones who will stand with the child when they accept their powers."

Hinata's eyes became wider as she opened her mouth to speak but was cut off by Ryaui before she could even say a word.

"The last thing that she said would lead us into war though. With her last breath, she said that the child would be born of the Moon. Hearing that, the Haiti declared war on the Hji. The war lasted for years, generation to generation until finally, a rumor spread that Queen Opal was impregnated. On the day of the birth, the Haiti took advantage of our lack of a leader and attacked. Thousands were slaughtered but we still had hope for Opal's child and Hikari coming back to us. Sadly, Opal's child was not the one but for some reason, she still fell ill. Then one day, on the Hikari came back and gave birth to you and the Fire Moon finally came."

Her breather hitched as she heard his, she was a princess. Not just a princess but the chosen one.

"The people of our land rejoiced at the fact that we had a savior but then one day, at the nursery, there was a fire. The leader of the Haiti, General and King Furmo, declared that the child was dead, that you were dead."

A single tear slid down his face.

"But I had to see it myself, and I'm glad I did,"

A smile suddenly appeared on Ryaui's face that gave the tear a new meaning.

"I found your body in a corner surrounded by ashes. I picked you up and took you to Hiashi before anyone could go to confirm the death, telling him that I would come back in thirteen years. I stayed quiet as all our hope went away as we surrendered to Furmo, for I knew if he knew you were dead, he would finish the job. Furmo happily accepted our defeat and took over our land. He and his people moved to the Moon while we were left with the wasteland of the Sun, for it was ruined during the war under Opal's tactical attack strategies. We lived surrounded by dozens of destruction and guards that reminded us every day, that that was it. They won. Ha, little did they know,"

"So now our small group of renegades lays in wait, waiting for you."

Hinata's face was now filled with understanding and dread. How was she, the weak heiress of the Hyuga going to defend and help all of these people counting on her, her people. Shaking the thought away she faced Ryaui.

"S-sorry Ryaui-san but, w-where are we going?"

Ryaui faced the girl and smirked. "We are going to train you, starting with that stutter of yours Hinata...We're going to the center of the Sun."
