Charlotte's POV"Ladies and gentlemen, if you will return to your seats, fasten your seatbelts and put your trays in the upright and locked position. The pilot is preparing for landing at Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport. We hope you enjoy your stay in Anguilla and as always, thank you for flying Delta."
I put the bottle of water that was sitting on my tray table away and pushed the tray up against the seat in front of me, trying not to wake Ender, who had his head against my shoulder. He had been busy with training the last few weeks, even waking up this morning to train before we had to catch our flight, so I wanted him to get as much rest as he could.
I closed the book I had been reading and rubbed my growing belly, my stomach letting out a growl as I did so.
"Sounds like baby is ready for a meal," the woman next to me laughed, closing the book that she had been reading. "I haven't wanted to bother the two of you during the flight, but I want to tell you congratulations. I'm a huge Braves fan, have been my whole life."
"Thank you," I smiled, looking down at where my hand rested. "We haven't made any public announcement yet...we were planning on it this week."
"Oh, honey, You don't have to worry about me blabbing my big mouth, I'm heading down here for a week of unplugging from the real world after my divorce, so I don't plan on talking to anyone but the man refilling my margarita glass, okay?" The woman laughed and ran her thumb over the empty spot on her ring finger, the only clue that a ring had been there being a tan line that would soon fade as well.
"I'm sorry to hear that," I said, but the lady brushed it off.
"Do you mind if I ask how far along you are? My name is Ada, by the way."
"24 weeks yesterday. Due right in time for baseball season, a few days after opening day actually! This is our babymoon." Ender started to stir and as soon as he stretched and got his bearings, I put my hand on his leg to get his attention. "Ender, this is Ada, she's a fan and wanted to tell us congratulations."
Ender reached across me to shake Ada's hand before letting that hand rest protectively against my belly. "We're excited to add this little Brave to the team."
We made small talk during the landing and wished each other well as we parted ways in the airport. Ender helped our driver load our luggage into the car as I climbed in the car, sending texts to our families to let them know we made it safely. After a quick drive from the airport, we pulled up to our hotel, the Zemi Beach House.
"You did good, babe!" I rubbed Ender's arm as I looked out the window at the beautiful resort that Ender had booked for us. We got checked in and headed to our room to unpack so we could get some food and take a nap, which is how most of my afternoons went these days.
"Happy babymoon, Lettie." Ender leaned over to kiss me as I leaned on the balcony railing to look at the beach down below. "What do you think?"
I took in the white sand and the beautiful water, the warm breeze making me forget for a moment that it was December. "I was thinking like a weekend getaway in the states when we started talking about a babymoon. I should have known you would do something like this."
