BTS Imagine: V Proposing Reader

"Yours, now and forever"

You were interning at a corporate company and it was extremely hard. The whole day was spent being on your feet in heels and uncomfortable office attire, running from one of your seniors office to another carrying files, getting coffee for everyone. It so wasn't what you had expected it to be. It wasn't going as well as you wanted it to go and today was simply worse. There was nothing that could cheer you up and you wondered eating away your feelings with a nice cake. As soon as you got into the metro your phone pinged. It was a message from your best friend, Kim Tae-hyung that you should go to the rooftop of your building as soon as you reach home. He didn't mention why. He simply stated that it was a surprise. You silently cursed if it was another one of his movie night plans then he is going to hear some choice words from you but getting to spend some time with him cheered you a little bit. You doubted yourself that you were going to be boring company for him today.

You wondered what it was all about since he was on tour with his band BTS. You reached your building and immediately went to the lift but it was closed. You paced yourself for the stairs. As soon as you opened the door for the stairwell you saw that it was lit with candles on the sides and rose petals were strewn all over the stairs. At every turn there were balloons tied to the railing and streamers on the wall. You kept climbing up the stairs. This man had definitely something planned.

As soon as you reached the first floor you saw Jungkook standing there with a cheeky smile on his face. As soon as you opened your mouth to ask him about Tae he handed you a gift box with a note. You read the note
"Without you every second is an eternity in itself."
You opened the gift box it was a beautiful watch with inscription 'eternally yours'.

Your breath caught in your throat. It was such a thoughtful gift. Jungkook gestured for you to continue. You climbed the next flight of stairs and Yoongi was standing there with another gift box and a note. "How many are there?", you asked him. "Not enough." He says and hands you the gift box and the note.
You take it from him and read the note. It was a quote by Christopher Poindexter 'Nothing brings to life again a forgotten memory like fragrance'. And the box had a couple of scented candles. You smiled at the scented candles. It was your secret. This was getting interesting.

You climbed another flight of stairs Jimin stood there next to a giant teddy bear. He looked at you with twinkle in his eyes and smiled, silently handing you the note. 'I want to hold you here right next to me for all eternity. I want to  be with you always even when I am not.' You looked at Jimin then at the bear wondering how you will carry it all the way to the rooftop. He looked at and laughed "Don't worry I will carry it for you. Off you go." You thanked him and climbed another flight of stairs with the notes in hand and your heart thumping wildly... whether from anticipation or this workout you were getting, it was debatable.

Jin was there at the next stop he  looked at you with his hands behind his back. "So?" You asked impatiently. "You are so eager" he laughs and hands you the gift box and the note. 'I wish to make many more memories with you.' You ripped open the gift box and saw that it was a photo album of all the moments you both spent together captured perfectly, okay some of them were blurry but the memory was still fresh in your mind. From watching movies to spending time at a park, you watching him at rehearsals to him attending your competitions, from him singing for you to you writing for him...  you quickly skimmed through it and almost ran the next flight of stairs.

"Careful now," said Hoseok as you reached him. You put your hands forward, palms up asking for the gift he handed you the gift box and the note. 'Thank you for being my anchor, my strength and my hope all these times.' And inside the box was an anchor necklace with both of yours first letter of your name. Your terrible day was turning into a good night. You collected your gifts and notes and at last reached Namjoon.

He smiled at you and gave you the note. "Exhausted?", he laughed. "He is going to hear about this. Most exercise I have done in the past month or like a year." You laughed with him. "I wish you both the best." He hugs you and gives you the bouquet of flowers and chocolate. 'You are the answer to my question so will you answer my question.'

You were at the end of the stairs standing at the rooftop door beyond the door stood the man you loved all these years but you could never say it to him, afraid that it might destroy your friendship. You were scared but also excited, definitely surprised and shocked that this was happening to you. It was a surreal experience.
One last step remaining and one question. The most important one. Are you ready for this? Can you compare to the person who has put his heart out for you to hold like your own or stomp all over it? The person waiting at the end of the road to begin another journey with you. Can you do this? Did you deserve him? All these thoughts ran through your mind.

The rest of the members were now standing behind you, waiting eagerly. You wiped tears that spilled from your eyes kept your gift boxes next to the door, stood up, dusted off your office attire and tried to smoothen a few creases trying to compose yourself. This was all real, it was happening but why was it terrifying you so much.
Jimin sensed your anxiety and put a hand on your shoulder, "Follow your heart. Don't overthink."
Everyone agreed behind you and cheered you.

You opened the door to see the man of your dreams, your every fantasy, your best friend... standing there in white silk shirt, lose grey tie and black pants with his hands behind his back looking at the door. He was looking like a vision straight out of your fantasy. As soon as he saw you he smiled, it was the most heart warming smile, the one that fills you with warmth and sends tingles all over your body at the same time.

You walked to him silently telling yourself to have faith, to trust, as you reached him you opened your mouth to speak," Tae, listen..."
He put his finger on your lips to shush you and continued...
"I know your tendency to ramble when you are anxious so let me say my piece... God knows I have been preparing for this for far too long." He mumbles the rest.

He clears his throat and gets down on his knee...
He takes your hand in his, looks into your eyes...

"I see other people and wonder when it will be my turn. I saw you sitting next to me on the floor eating pizza in your matching pajamas and laughing at that english movie we were watching right there I knew that I wanted this with you, the next night and after that.
I promise to keep you happy, to help you grow, to love you, to understand and accept you for who you are as long as I live.
I can love you like you want to be loved, like you desire to be loved. All I want is a chance to prove it to you.

So, my best friend, my love,
Will you give us a chance?
Will you be my girlfriend?
Will you be my now and forever?"

He let go of your hand and pulled out a promise ring. You choked back a sob while tears were streaming down your face...
"Yes." You whispered.
He put the ring on your finger and stood up.
"Yes... a million times yes." You said to him while hugging him.

Others cheered behind you and let you both have your moment.
As he let go of the hug you held on to him tighter. "Just a little while more. Please stay."
"For you, always" he says hugging you back.
