The sound rung in my ears for quite awhile. Then I was falling. You know those dreams you get where you know your falling but can't do anything about it? Yeah this was one of those.
I woke up with a thud.
My legs banged the mattress pretty hard. I was gasping and wheezing my lungs out. I couldn't see a thing.
That's when I realized I hadn't opened my eyes yet.
Lavendar was sitting beside me. Her delicate hands stroking my callous ones. She smiled at me, but it was different from her happy, "I'm a four years-old" smiles, it was kinda sad.
On the far side of the room, a guy with dark skin and a close cropped afro sat beside a table, with his back to us, mixing something in two small vials. (I heard glass)
"It's okay" Lavendar muttered. Her eyes nervously fixed on the door.
We were in a small white room. That would be the most accurate description.
Small white room.
It had no windows, no way for air to circulate. Just a door, a small table and a bed.
"Alex" she was more audible now. "Can you hear me?"
I tried to sit up but, dang it hurts.
"Don't." She shook her head disapprovingly
"I can't"
She laughed lightly. The guy at the table turned. He had earphones on.
"Oh, hi" he pulled out his earphones.
"Hey" I choked.
That's when the door slammed back, the noise echoing in the room. And in came a woman in a black cloak.
