Swift Sanders is a living miracle: after being hit by a car and lying dead in a morgue for three days, she wakes up with no true recollection of the incident, apart from a strong feeling that it was destined to happen. To help recover from her accident, Swift is sent away to Nocturne Academy - a boarding school in London, England - at the recommendation of her psychiatrist. But what awaits Swift's arrival there is far different from the sophisticated version of St Trinians that she expected.
Plunged into a dangerous world of the supernatural and spiritual, Swift quickly realises that humans are not the only creatures to walk this earth. And she may not be as human as she once thought.
