Today was mine Leigh's two year anniversary

Today was mine Leigh's two year anniversary. I had been working so hard on my own career that I hadn't had much time for Leigh or our relationship. As per usual, I had to go out to work during the day so Leigh thought I had forgotten all about our anniversary. How could I?

I was typing up at my desk in the studio when I heard my phone ring. It was Jesy. I knew exactly what I was up against.

"Hey Jesy. What's up?"

"I'll tell you what's up Lia. You're girlfriend has just been on the phone to me crying saying that someone had forgotten her two year anniversary card." Jesy sounded aggressive.

"Jesy, I have made plans. Do you honestly think I would forget the happiest day of my life?"

"Oh, that's not what I expected." She sounded surprised.

"I'll be taking her out tonight."

I managed to get out of the studio a little earlier, leaving me enough time to get home to my now stressed girlfriend.

"Baby, I'm home."

"Food's in the fridge." I heard her yell and the bedroom door slam shut.

I sighed heavily as I wandered up the glass stairs to the bedroom we shared together. "Leigh, babe..."

"Don't call me that! Do you know what today is?!" The door had swung open again to see a very angry looking lady.

"Yes! I had plans!" I raised my voice. Leigh could see that I was frustrated. I never really shouted that often.

"What do you mean?" Her voice a lot milder now.

"You need to get ready. I hadn't forgotten, it was a surprise." I pulled a strand of hair away from her face before lightly kissing her forehead. "I already asked Jesy the same thing. Why would I forget the happiest day of my life?"

"How do you put up with me." The black haired beauty sighed contently.

"It's hard, oh so very hard but I love you. That's why I do it."

Leigh slapped my arm playfully before I indicated for her to get ready.

Three hours had passed and we had arrived at our destination.

"Are you planning my death?" Her right brow was raised. "I was expecting a restaurant or something."

"Come with me baby."  I opened the car door for my girlfriend to lean out.

I took hold of her hand and led her slowly down the gravelled path. I had taken her on a late night walk. It was peaceful, and we were alone. No paps, no cameras. Just us. When we reached the perfect spot, she had seen a picnic blanket and lights scattered around the small part of the woodland. There was the sound of the calming waterfall behind us. Leigh-Anne's face lit up.

"Lia, this is amazing!"

"You are amazing." I smiled back at her.
