Chapter 2~Soldier Boy

Soon it was morning again, I got up and headed over to my vanity. I looked in the mirror hoping to see what my future holds, I am interrupted with my maid walking in. "Hello m' lady, are you ready for the day she says in a big smile and gleeful eyes." She says, I have had the same maid for over 15 years and she practically raised me. Her name was Molly and she was 25, and I was very grateful to have her, Molly agreed to come with us to America and was as excited as I. Arthur liked her a lot and I think that was one reason that he kept her around. I think he even loves her in some way but he could never court her, they are just friends and enjoy each other company. I got out of bed and I ask Molly what are my plans are for today, "first Cordelia we must get you ready for the ball tonight!" She said clapping her hands with a big smile. "Really we have a ball to go to tonight !!" I said very excited at the news, "yes, the king has thrown a ball in you and your brothers honor, it's a going away party! The king will miss You and Arthur very much and would love to show you two his gratitude for everything Arthur has done for his country." She said, I couldn't wait to go and I started getting butterfly's in my stomach. Molly got me ready and we both went downstairs to see Arthur waiting for me as usual. " good morning Cordelia" he said looking up at me, "good morning!" I said and grabbed Molly's hand and ran out the door, right before I left i saw a very confused look on Arthur's face and he got up and ran after us. We ran over to the stables faster than Arthur and Molly and I mounted my brown horse without any help and rod out of he stable. My heart was beating so fast and we almost got away from the house when Arthur jumps in front of the horse and yells stop. My horse gets scared and kicks Molly and I off, Arthur immediately runs behind the horse and catches Molly but I was trying to calm the horse down when a stray cat runs in front of the horse and scares it again, instead of being kicked off again the horse runs away as fast as it can and I am holding on for my life. Arthur puts Molly down and yells after me in and worry, I start to scream for help as my horse runs through the streets, people start to come out of their homes and just stand and watch me. Soon Arthur got on his White horse and tried to reach me but I was too far ahead and the horse was going through main streets and even some broken alleys. The horse takes me to another Main Street when I start to slip off and I can't hold the rains for much longer. I scream once again for someone to hear me when the horse almost runs into a carriage and I'm kicked off, midair I scream and tears start to fall down my eyes. I braved myself for the impact and when I hit the ground it wasn't as hard as I thought it was, I open my eyes to see Arthur on his white horse order on of his soldiers to go get my horse and him getting off his horse running to me. I then realize I didn't hit the ground but another solider. "Oh my I'm so sorry, I can I ever repay you sir." Being very embarrassed, I am surrounded by soldiers of Arthur's Army. And not only that the person who supposed caught me was William, "oh miss it's alright." He says with a goofy smile, thinking back when I first met him I really wish I didn't make him fall in love with me, cuz now I'm stuck to him. He helps me up and Arthur pulls me into a tight embrace and I can feel him shaking, "Arthur I'm alright." I say to calm him but he still was a little freaked out. Arthur finally let's go of me and mounts his horse, William helps me up and I sit in front of Arthur. He yells some orders for the shoulders to go back to their post then he kicks the horse and we take off back home. We rode in silence on the way back, all I could think of was why did I do that.
