Okay, so we're probably all guilty of doing it at some point or another, but it's gotten a bit annoying now.
It started when you saw a book titled, 'Scott McCall's Twin Sister' with a huge picture of Nina Dobrev as the cover or something overused like that. You thought that it was a great idea, and even though there were a million other fics just like it, you swore that yours would be different and unique... only it wasn't.
Instead of using an overly done plot try thinking up a more original and unique story
We know that it can be difficult to think of something nobody has done before, but we are here to help!
ORIGINAL SUPERNATURAL CREATURES: Look at different mythological creatures on the internet and base your OC off of that. Remember that TW is a show about the supernatural and there are hundreds of creatures out there that weren't featured in the show
FACE CLAIMS: Look up different face claims. Sometimes when I want to make a new story, I'll look at face claims on google or tumblr and be inspired by someone's appearance and think, "wow! They look like they'd be a nymph" or something like that, making it simpler to create a complex and interesting OC. Then the story is easier to create once you have an OC thought up.
PLOT SHOPS: check out a plot shop if all else fails. Plot shops have wonderful plots for a fic that are already created and thought up. The most the creator of the plot usually asks for is a shout out/credit. The most I've ever seen as a 'price' in a plot shop is a permanent follow to the creator of the plot. If you want, go ahead and check out our plot shop! We'd be happy to give you a plot!
