In only a minute, we were able to find at least twelve books with the exact same plot. And this are only the ones with Stiles as a love interest!
Still don't believe us it isn't very original?
This is an example of one of the many overused plots. How can you avoid doing a story about an idea that has already been done? Worry not! Here below we leave a list with all the plots you should know are overused!
NOTE: all these stories and plots were solely used to prove a point. We aren't meaning to criticize or discredit any of these fanfictions.
OVERUSED PLOTS:
THE OTHER HALE In the Hale fire, Derek and Peter (and Cora, who everyone always forgets to mention) weren't the only ones who survived. Derek's younger sister, Haley, also survived the fire. She was always cold and rude (or either warm and nice, always goes to extremes), but wasn't a werewolf. Then she finds herself falling for Isaac Lahey / Scott McCall / Stiles Stilinski!
LYDIA MARTIN'S TWIN Lydia has a twin named Crystal who is a total diva, is a genius and has an incredible fashion sense! Sound familiar? Definitely not, because she is an original character! Even if she seemed perfect at first look, she had a flaw. She was in love with the Sheriff's son- Stiles Stilinski.
STILES STILINSKI'S TWIN Stiles has a twin who is almost exactly like him and steals his lines named Stella. Everything was normal in her life until Scott gets bit by a werewolf and ends up falling for, Derek Hale / Scott McCall / Liam Dunbar.
STILES AND SCOTT'S BEST FRIEND Jessica Rose has been best friends with Scott McCall and Stiles Stilinski since she was a kid. She loved getting into trouble with them! One night they went out into the woods and Scott was bitten by a werewolf, but she was bitten too! Now she has to deal with her one of her best friend's being a werewolf, her being a banshee and being in love with Stiles / Scott!
THE OTHER ARGENT Allison Argent has a twin sister named Alice who is a hunter since she was very young, but loves werewolves! She doesn't see anything wrong with them and then- surprise! She falls in love with one!
