"Do you think the universe fights for souls to be together? Some things are too strange and strong to be coincidences."  This is a famous quote by Emery Allen and it was exactly what was going on in Hiro's mind. He had just met Sora, but something in the pit of his stomach was telling him that them meeting was too strange to simply be a coincidence.

Hiro stood outside in the hallway, he was breathing so heavily as if he had been drowning. Well, maybe he had been drowning all along. Maybe his fifteen years of life have been worthless and a waste of time, maybe, Hiro thought, it was time to make a change, to learn what life truly had to offer him.

"Hey, where did you go, I want to get to know you Hiro my Hero!" Why does he keep saying that, Hiro thought. It seemed too strange, they hardly even knew each other. Hiro took one last deep breath, knowing that he would have to enter that room once more and face Sora like a man. Hiro barely even knew the proper way of communicating with people his age, but he would try anyway.

Hiro slowly walked back into Sora's bedroom. "Oh my god Sora, put on some clothes!" Sora had no clothes on other than his underwear. Hiro took a quick glance at him anyway, Sora had such an interesting body. His shoulders were long and broad, his stomach was smooth and muscled, he looked like a model.  Hiro had begun turning red again when he noticed something on Sora's back. "Sora, what kind of scar is that?" He pointed. Sora quickly put his shirt on and looked at Hiro with his sparkling eyes, as if trying to telepathically communicate with him his true feelings. "This is nothing of your concern, I'm sorry, but that is my rule." He whispered gently. Hiro did not understand, Sora had been so open with him just a minute ago. What could be so important that Sora would change his attitude in mere seconds.

Sora quickly changed his attitude and jumped up and down on his bed. "So, this is your house! Its pretty sweet." "Thanks," I reply. "Yea, I guess it is a pretty nice house." Sora looks at Hiro directly in the face. Hiro felt as if Sora's eyes were going to burn his face off. "Hiro, how come I have not seen your father?" He gently asked. Hiro decided he would tell him, it's not like he had anything to hide. "My dad passed away when I was 12. He had been diagnosed with heart disease when I was born, and he fought so hard to see me grow up. But I guess fighting it got too hard, so he gave up." Hiro's eyes had begun swelling with tears. Sora jumped off the bed, picked Hiro up and began cradling him like a little baby. "Um, Sora what exactly are you doing." Hiro nervously asked. "My mother used to do this when I was little, whenever I got upset she would pick me up and cradle me gently. It felt so good. " He replied.

Hiro looked at Sora. "Huh, I guess this is what having a friend feels like." He whispered to himself.

A few minutes later both boys heard a voice yelling,"Boys, I'm making pancakes for breakfast. " Hiro quickly jumped off of Sora, his mom could not see him in this state. She would not understand. "All right mom we are coming down." He yelled. At least she was making pancakes, he grumbled.

"Ok Sora lets go eat some of the greatest pancakes in the world!" Sora looked strangely at me. "Hiro, I have never tried pancakes before." Hiro looked at Sora, completely astonished. " Well, I guess this will be your first. Come on." Hiro took Sora by the hand and led him downstairs into the kitchen. They sat at the table and waited for the pancakes. "Ok, hot and steaming coming through." One pancake for Hiro and one for Sora flew through the air and landed on the table. "Ok Sora, ready to experience the pancake world?" "Oh hell I am!!" Sora yelled. They both began stuffing pieces of pancake into their mouths. Hiro watches as sora's eyes grow wide open as if he had just experienced something incredible. "Oh wow, this is amazing." He smiled so widely you could see the pieces of pancake stuck in his teeth. Hiro thought for a second about how cute Sora looked, but then realized what he was thinking and turned hot red.

"Hiro are you all right, you look a bit red." Hiro's mom asked. "Oh I'm fine mom, these pancakes are just so good!" He quickly replied out of fear. "THANK YOU PANCAKE MOM." Sora yelled. "Oh wow no one has ever called me that before, it feels so nice." Hiro's mom said.

Hiro had to get out of there, this affection and love was more than he could handle in one sitting. He quickly took Sora's hand and they ran out of the house. "Goodbye Pancake lady" Sora yelled.

Hiro's mother looked at the strange boy, it was as if he was sent here for a purpose she thought.

Hiro ran as fast as he could and Sora followed him even though he was injured. "Hiro, where are we going?" He yelled. Hiro realized he was going to reveal his secret place to someone, but he knew that Sora would be able to keep this place a secret. "I want to show you something incredible, but you must keep quiet about it." Hiro yelled back.  Finally they got to an enormous willow tree, Sora watched as Hiro ran to the tree and then jumped through a hole. Sora, thinking that Hiro had fallen, ran to the tree as fast as he could and jumped into the hole with Hiro.

"Ok, Sora here we are." Sora took a look around. Where was he? "Hiro what is this place?" He asked. Hiro took a long look at Sora before answering back. "This is where I go when  I need some time alone. Come on there is a spot I need to show you." Both boys ran until they reached an enormous tree, It was a willow tree, but it had golden leaves. "Hiro, these leaves are golden!" Sora yelled, completely shocked. "Yep, this is actually the spot where you fell on me, I had no clue how you knew about this place, but now I see that you didn't."

Hiro walked over to the tree and lay down, Sora looked shocked at first, but then lay down next to him. Hiro looked up at the orange sky. It was so beautiful, he was actually glad he could enjoy this place with someone. He looked at Sora, he looked so peaceful and happy. Hiro smiled and closed his eyes.

"Hiro, this place is incredible, how did you find it?" Sora sleepily asked. "I'll tell you soon, I promise." Hiro responded, half asleep as well. Sora smiled at Hiro and took his hand. Hiro realized what had happened, but in that moment, he did not mind one bit.
