Three O'clock in the morning
And I'm still not home
Another night, your sleeping
by yourself.I know you cry yourself to sleep
Every night, because of me
And how you feel you keep it
to yourself.Sebastian Mikael's "Forever" played through my car speakers while I was on my way to Zaire's apartment.
I swear this song put me in my feelings every time I listened to it, it's just something about his voice that puts me in that place.
I used this alone time to sort out my thoughts. Having Zaire here with me will make my life here so much better. I now have my other half again and I'll be damned if he goes anywhere. I really just hate the fact that all of those faded feelings will resurface and I'll do something stupid that I will ultimately regret, and that's the only downside of him being here. There will be girls, relationships, and one night stands that will get to me because I'm so in love with my best friend. I'm afraid. The summer between my senior year of high school and freshman year here, I had a boyfriend, Jamie, I swear I thought I was in love but the whole time he was cheating me with a baby on the way. I was devastated and Za was there the whole time helping me cope with my first breakup and I think it was during that time that my feelings really started to blossom for him.
I finally pulled up to his apartment complex and exited my car. As I was waiting for the elevator to come down a man that looked to be around my age stepped beside me. He was FINE. I'm talking about tall, caramel, curly fro, dimples, straight white smile, and swagger out of this world.
"Hey beautiful,". DAMN, even his voice is sexy, not to high not to deep.
"Hey". DAMN, is honestly all I could think of as I looked him up and down while biting my lip.
Soon, the elevator came, saving me from the awkward moment. At the same time we reached for the level 3 button. I giggled as he chuckled.
"Damon."
"What?"
"My name's Damon."
"Well hello Damon, it's nice to meet you," I said as we shook hands. The elevator dinged signifying that we had reached the 3rd floor.
"So you're not gonna tell me your name?"
"Oh, Alisha," I said blushing.
"Well Alisha, do you mind giving me your number?" he asked.
"Of course not," I said before I recited my number to him.
"I'll hit you up sometime, you better answer too, gorgeous," he said making me blush as we parted ways.
"I will," I said as I knocked on Zaire's door.
He opened the door as soon as I knocked wearing a pair of khaki shorts, a plain black polo shirt with the white horse, and his Jordan 13s.
"What took you so damn long, Babygirl? You said 45 minutes, it has now been 47 minutes. Care to explain?" He said with an attitude.
"Oh, there was this guy in the elevator we exchanged numbers and stuff, you know how that goes."
"Oh," he said plainly. What the hell is his problem?
"Why you say it like that?" I said with my hand now on my hip.
"Cause, I just got here and instead of you spending all the time you could with me, you out here getting niggas numbers and stuff."
Well, damn.
"Sorry Za," I said sighing. "Can we go now?" I said after dropping my duffle bag on his couch.
"Yeah, come on," he said while locking up.
So much for just a fun, relaxed day. I mean, I believe he's more mad about me talking to Damon and not being two minutes late because he's never on time hisself. I don't like that, I'm pretty sure while we're out today multiple females will come up to him trying flirt and spit game and he'll flirt back, and I'm supposed to just stand there and wait while he does that because if I do say anything I'm "blocking" as he would put it. But since he had a problem with me talking to a guy while we're supposed to spending time together, let a female approach him. I'm "blocking" like my life depended on it and if he has a problem with it I'm just gonna say "But we're supposed to spending time with each other right?".

We have been in this mall for a total of 25 minutes and now 45 seconds and 6 females have already approached Zaire. And every time one does, I say "Hi, I'm his baby's mother," which causes them to walk away dramatically and him to look at me with an eye roll and a "Why the hell you keep doin' that shit, bruh?". My response as always is, "We're supposed to be spending time with each other, right?".
Right now we're in FootLocker because he wants to have matching shoes. We both decided on just getting the Thunders and calling it a day. My feet hurt and I'm hungry.
"Zaaaaaaaa, I'm hungry," I whined as we walked with his arm over my shoulder and all of our bags on his left hand.
We headed to the food court, I decided on Chick-Fil-A and Za went to Subway. We say down, ate, and we're now on our way to Za's apartment to chill since we decided not go out tonight.
"Babygirl, can I tell you something?" Za questioned as we lay in his bed cuddled up.
"What's up?"
"Look, I know we been friends for a while now but,I just feel I can confess to you. It's gon' be hard but, alright here it goes," he sighed as he began to sing "Imagine that the pillow that you cried on was my chest,
and the tissue that you wiped your face with was my hand.
Girl, imagine: if you needed advise about some other guy, I'm the one that comes to mind.
Not tryna hear you tell nobody that I'm just a friend,
just trying to make sure I'm that body that you call your man,
and anytime you need a shoulder -- it's yours, night or day,
but what I'm tryna say is, I wanna be...," He looked into my teary eyes"Yours."•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
