Marilyn moved seats in art class
Her seat is right near mine
Not like it matters
I'll never talk to her
I can't

As much as she downplays it
She is great at drawing
Her art is mostly of women
Which makes sense
But her drawings are eloquent and intricate
I'm the only one that has seen them

She went to the bathroom earlier that day
And her glossy purple binder was just sitting there
I couldn't let someone steal it
So I snatched it when Avva wasn't looking

Avva is Marilyn's closest friend,
Aside from maybe Leigh
They were friends since 6th grade
But Avva is nothing like Marilyn
She likes rock
And she likes tattoos
And she likes death
Avva is depressed
But no one else knows that

Her binder cover was a watercolor octopus,
tentacles tangled in the paper
The pages were filled with art
Women posing with basketballs
Women missing legs
But one picture seemed out of place

The picture portrayed a woman from the waist up
Holding a mask over her face
The mask was obviously Marilyn's face
And the title wrote "what face do you want me to put in today?"

Marilyn was happy
Marilyn was perky
Marilyn loves everyone
Doesn't she?
