Today in P.E
Marilyn cheated on the planking test
She dropped her leg
when the teacher was not looking
But I was
Marilyn wears something different each class
Like she is afraid of the sweat
But she's not
And Marilyn's not like other girls
She doesn't cringe at basketball
Or cry in baseball
Or sit out in volleyball
She plays
And she might not be great
But Marilyn plays
I participate
But do I?
Sometimes I don't want to
I sometimes sit,
Away from the crowd
Observing
I don't like talking to people
But I like observing
You can learn a lot from observing
What they like
Who they like
How they act
And how they act when they
don't think people are
Looking
But I am looking
I observe
That's all
Nothing more
Nothing less
Sometimes I keep checklists in my head;
What color people are wearing
What they did with their hair that day
If they are wearing P.E shoes
Little things to them
But really, they are big things
