Sasha woke up in a cold sweat, chest heaving.
She clutched the hem of her damp shirt, sitting up with her head down. Nightmares haunted her sleep ever since the incident, which happened nearly a week ago.
The prince.
His figure kept appearing in her dreams. He and her, at the start of every dream, would sit down at the table for two in the infinite dark space that held enough lighting only for the two of them to strike up a conversation. The dream that followed previous one was a continuation of the conversation they had before, the light dimming as they conversed. The component that made it a nightmare was the fact that at the end of every discussion, the Prince tortured her, inflicting pain that left her screaming for mercy.
The punishment progressively worsened as each night passed.
Sasha could still feel the effects of the punishment, as she restrained the tears the brimmed her eyes.
"Babe?" Jimin called out groggily, prying his eyes open.
Sasha quickly wiped the sweat and tears, facing away from Jimin.
"Yeah?"
Jimin rose from his laid out state quickly, sensing Sasha's discomfort.
"Are you crying?"
As firmly as she could, Sasha denied. "No."
Her trembling torso told Jimin otherwise. "Oh no, darling what's wrong?"
She couldn't bring herself to spit the words as Jimin rubbed her back soothingly, noticing how wet her shirt was.
"Just a bad dream."
"You sure?" Jimin asked softly, swiftly giving her a new t-shirt. Sasha nodded her head as she discarded the wet shirt in the laundry basket, pulling the new one over her head.
"Yeah," she whispered, her back on the mattress once again.
Deciding not to push her any further, Jimin laid back down and opened his arms. "Come here."
Sasha slid into his arms as Jimin wrapped them around her, pulling her close into his chest. Her head automatically burrowed into his chest, and Jimin kissed the top of her head.
When she was sure Jimin was asleep, Sasha dragged her feet out Jimin's place, breaking into a sprint, weaving through the roads like the wind. It was like her feet had a mind of their own, as they carried her to the familiar forest.
"What brings you here, miss?"
The familiar whisper of the forest nymph queen from up above soothed Sasha's nerves. Sasha looked up at the creature with a heavy heart.
"I... I've been having these dreams-" Sasha gulped, unable to continue.
The beautiful queen felt her emotions and placed a comforting hand on Sasha's shoulder. The nymph's emerald green hair flowed with grace, like an underwater coral, as she jumped down from the branch.
"Follow me,"
After many twists and turns, the greenest, most vibrant patch of the forest peaked our from the leaves and branches that blocked their view. It was a healthy green, unlike the rest of the forest, which had leaves of brown, as they decayed in the cold weather. Sasha's eyes widened slight at the sight, as it took her breath away.
"I encourage you to bathe in one of the many sacred springs, like your mother had did many years ago," the nymph pointed at the crystal spring that glittered effortlessly in the moonlight.
"It's healing qualities are quite extraordinary, and I hope you find peace in your distressed state, daughter of Artemis."
The nymph turned away and walked back, but Sasha called out, "Where are you going?"
