Divided (Prologue and Background)

In the modern day of the Earth, everything has changed from how you imagine it. The universe had shifted, allowing the world to start again. Some people say this was the doing of God or a deity, others strictly believe in science. Whatever the cause, it's happened. Societies and economies have changed their systems, new civilizations have started, empires and dynasties had begun to grow. Nothing was the same.

And along with those changes, new people have come as well. Pure humans haven't been discovered ever since the world shifted, and most people say that they never existed. They're like dinosaurs, everyone thinks either they never existed or have been destroyed. But they aren't present in many discussions.

Modern humans have been merged with many animals and creatures that old humans never thought existed. Many have wings, these are called Avians. Many have the body of a human with just the wings of a bird on their back. A rarer situation is where they have wings instead of arms. They can have the wings of any bird, such as a raven or owl.

Sirens and succubus exist as well. Though they can also be men, counteracting against much of the old human's mythology. These two species are seen as evil, and you rarely come across any. Succubus go into the dreams of people when they are depressed or in a very low time of their life. This is the easiest time for them to be taken and accepting of the Succubus' unfair deals, which lead to death or prisoning. Sirens with occasionally be seen with the tail of a fish, but seen without just as often. They lure passerby's into the ocean with them. Their goals haven't been discovered, but they are dangerous.

There are also Elves and Nymphs. Elves and Nymphs are seen as sister species, as they relate so much and are seen together on lots of occasions. Both are very pacifistic and will rarely fight, though they are not weak by any means. Most have familiars, which are animals or creatures that help their masters, much like guard dogs and companions.

The last are magic users, which include wizards, witches, sorcerers, and casters, each a little different. Sorcerers are scholars in magic, they have attended academy for it and are very lawful. They are seen in many governmental occupations and high stands in society. Casters are seen as evil, and they are skilled in dark and demonic magic. They are seen as criminals and are forbidden from most states. Witches and wizards are the most common magic users, and use their magic in combat and daily life.

Species' are divided into states, some friendly with others, some not. Many states, such as the Elvish Empire and the Nymph villages, are somewhat sister locations. Many Nymphs live in the Elvish Empire and vise versa. Casters have been banished from all states, and no one is quite sure where they stay, or if any exist.

They are very divided though. As it isn't wrong to stray from one's own state, most people stay in their own, but as time went on more and more people began to move into different areas.

In this new earth, some say it's destined to change, some say this is it. But with evil at your doorstep and drama between the many states around every corner, things are bound to happen.

Things are bound to change.
