A week later...

— Archie & Jughead —

Archie walked in POP Tate's and approached jughead who waa typing on his laptop.

"What were you going to tell me?" The redhaired smiled at the brunette.

Jughead looked up from his laptop. "Oh. Uh, nothing big... I guess." He shrugged.

"You're quitting being a serpent?" Archie said, narrowing his brows. "Totally kidding bro. But what is it really?"

The brunette frowned at his friend and shook his head. He couldn't just quit being a serpent, surely the Southsiders would punish him. But that was not even the topic he would like to talk about to Archie.

"I was wondering if uh... Betty's seeing anyone now?" Jughead asked hesitantly.

Archie smirked knowing he was totally right about Jughead being interested with the blonde.

"Now you're talking," The redhaired chuckled. "And the answer is no, she isn't seeing anyone."

"I don't know man, Betty has caught my attention ever since we started working together."

"You definitely like her, huh? What can I do to help?" Archie smirked.

"Since you guys are bestfriends, aside from Veronica, what does Betty like? Like things and such?"

Jughead tried controlling himself not to like Betty in a romantic way but he failed. Ever since the incident of Jason's loss, they have been around each other. Jughead wanted to know more about the blonde. He never had a girlfriend and hopefully he could show her what he got.

"Actually, Betty would appreciate anything. That girl isn't choosy, man. She's just a simple girl." Archie told his friend.

Jughead grinned, starting to think of what to give Betty.

"You going to court her?"

"Not yet. Just uh, going to give her something, and be more friendly for now." Jughead slightly laughed.

Archie turned serious. "Hey, can you promise me something?"

The brunette frowned curiously then nodded. "What is it?"

"If ever Betty allowed you to court her and ended up being together, please please do not hurt her. I know I've told you how much I had hurt her feelings but Betty deserves so much more than me and that is you, Jughead." The redhaired said sincerely.

"Definitely. I will take care of her. I promise." Jughead assured.

The boys left POP Tate's and started dealing on their planned activities.

Archie was going to meet Veronica but on his way, some random guy approached him. The redhaired suddenly got curious.

"Oy." The man called out. He was around 40's, had a thick beard and hair, dark skin and he was much taller than Archie.

"Uh- What can I help you?" Archie asked, putting his hands in his pockets.

"You're Jason Blossom, aren't you?"
