Chapter V: Through the Forest of Apeirodasos

We wander off into the forest, any direction, the house was in the middle of it. Neither of us have any clue where we were going, especially since we can't see, it's pitch black, well a very dark blue, outside. It's night time...for 24 hours...oh, this is gonna be a long night.
"Hey Dex would you happen to have a torch on you?"I ask.
"What! No! We don't need more fire!"He exclaims.
"Ugh, I meant a flashlight, ya dingbat."I say.
"What is a flashlight?"he asks.
"Oh my god, never mind!" I say. If you know what a first-aid kit is, then why don't you know what a flashlight is?
"Whatever, let's just find some food and shelter. And quick, we have predators, well, most of them are omnivorous. Do you know how many times I caught a giant creitilla,"(Cray-tee-yuh)," sneaking into my house, and eating all my toklitas?"(talk-leet-us)
"Umm...no, I don't. Especially because I don't know what either of those things are."
"Creitillas and toklitas?"
"Yeah."
"Well a toklita is a plump, red vegetable, well, really it's a fruit, but everybody calls it a vegetable." A tomato? "And a creitilla is an animal with kind of a long snout, a box head, a body-type like this," He crouches down and sits like a dog,"They have fur everywhere, they have a long neck, their fur pattern varies, it could be blue with yellow polka-dots, or any color for that manner." A...ummm...I actually can't say what that is. I would say a fox, or a wolf, but it's...colorful? Maybe it's a feline...canine...rodent...some kind of bear?
Well we continue walking in that direction until we find a cave. It's not a very deep cave, it's just deep enough to house a family of bears.
"Patch, stay out here, I'm gonna go in to make sure it's safe," Dex says.
"Okay, I'll stay right here!" It's very dark.
He goes in, and there are about thirty seconds of silence. Then there is a hoarse growl and a "manly" scream. Swiftly Dex dashes out and he grabs my arm and shouts "It's a creitilla!" He picks up a huge stick and all of a sudden I get pounced! I land on my back and feel a sharp pain in my back. It's so painful that I can't scream! I get a close up look at the face of a...creitilla. I can't really make it out. But it looks like the silhouette of a cheetah-hyena hybrid. Dex quickly smashes the creature off of me. He then battles it out, using the stick like a staff. I just lay there. My back hurts way to much to get up on my own. I just listen.
Thwack! Wack! Thwack! Yelp!
"Patch are you able to get up, or do you need help?" Dex walks over to me.
"I definitely need help."
Dex takes my hand and helps me up. " It's should be safe to go in now." He says.
"What if there is more?" I ask.
"Trust me, there isn't. Creitillas are extremely territorial, if there were more, they all would have chased me out of the cave."
I follow him into the cave, but first, he grabs a bunch of sticks. In about the middle of the cave, he drops the sticks on the ground. He picks up a couple of rocks and grind-smacks them together. Sparks fly onto the sticks and there is a fire. Now there is light and warmth in the cave.
"We should take shelter in here until morning, so for now, we should probably sleep for the rest of the night. The fire woke us up in the middle of the sleeping period, only got 4 hours," he says.
