The bad luck just kept stacking up and up for me. First, Toby made it very clear that he couldn't see me because of my dad. Second, my family pops out a huge surprise and tells me that we're moving to London. Now, Toby won't answer any of my calls. But he doesn't know that I'm moving. For sure he'd come if he knew that. Right?
ONE WEEK LATER:
Emily is at Toby's loft talking to him. Spencer doesn't know.
"Hey, Toby." Emily said
"Oh. Hey, Em." He responded.
"Why haven't you answered any of Spencer's calls?"
"Did she ask you to say this?"
"No, she doesn't even know I'm here." Emily replied.
"Well, I think that's between me and her." He replied.
"What happened, Toby? You guys were way into your relationship at first, and now it's terrible. You're too scared of her Dad to even care about Spencer."
"That isn't true! I'm not scared of her Dad. I'm just afraid for Spencer. I don't want me to be the cause of her and her father never speaking again."
"Toby, she knows what she's doing. You just aren't trusting her. And if you would pick up your damn phone, then you would know the news."
"What news?" He asked.
She sighed. "Ugh, you should've answered her calls. Toby... Spencer's moving."
His head snapped up. "She's what?"
"She's moving. To London. Her family is. Her mom, dad, and sister."
"Wait, she's moving? I... I didn't know."
"Yeah, maybe because you were too busy to care." Emily snapped. She started to turn for the door.
"No, Emily. Wait. I just..."
"You don't have to say anything. It's very clear. Apparently you just want to break her heart."
"I don't. I just don't want to break it even more." He said.
"Well, maybe you should at least talk to her. She deserves that at least."
He nodded his head but didn't say anything.
"Well, I've gotta go. That's all I wanted to say. If you really love her, Toby... then you'll fight for her."
That's all she said before she left the room.

BACK TO SPENCER
I looked out of my window to see it raining outside. Of course it was raining. On the bad days it always rained. The bad days were the ones that involved being alone. Maybe not physically, but mentally.
Toby still hadn't called back or picked up. I was beginning to think this really was goodbye. I was leaving tomorrow morning. I hated it, but I really couldn't control it.
There was a knock on the door. "Come in!" I shouted.
Aria, Hanna, and Emily walked in. Hanna brought flowers. I smiled slightly.
"Are those for me?" I asked. My voice was really dry.
"No, they're for Melissa." Hanna said.
I gave her a wierd look, and she smiled.
"Yes they're for you, silly."
She handed them to me. "Thank you. At least something good comes out of this day."
I looked over at Aria and Emily. But they didn't say much. I could see the red on Emily's face from crying. Which only made me want to cry even more. I hated leaving them. I hadn't even said goodbye to Ali. Let alone even ask about her.
"How's Ali?" I questioned.
"She's okay. Her Dad finally picked her up. He wasn't really happy, but he wasn't sad either." Emily said. Her voice even sounded like she'd been crying.
I nodded. "It sucks I have to leave. I really am going to miss you guys. You have no idea..."
Aria whipped at her eye. "I can't really lose two people in 2 weeks."
"But Ezra's okay. He's alive."
"Yeah, but it's not the same. And... losing you is worse."
More tears came from her eyes. I hugged her, and nearly started crying again. I would miss Team Sparia.
Hanna and Emily joined in the hug. "Guys, I won't be gone forever. I promise."
"Yeah... But it still sucks." Hanna said. Now she was crying.
I'm pretty sure all of us were. Leaving your best friends was like leaving your body without water. Alone, and dry...
"Look, whatever happens... I just want you to know you've always been my best friend. And.... I know that wherever you go.. they're really lucky to have you." Aria said.
I smiled and cried at the same time.
When we all pulled away, there was silence. It was hard to talk when you were about to leave.
"Can you guys be at the airport tomorrow? I just want to say goodbye one last time." I asked.
They nodded. "Of course. Anything." Hanna said.
We hugged once more before they left. I already missed them, and I hadn't even left yet. But I guess I'm pretty lucky to have them... because not all goodbyes are as perfect as that.
Ahh, I got emotional just writing that. But can't wait to write the next chapter! :) Thanks for all the reads!
