Chapter 9

Honey has packed food, drinks, blankets and her wooden box in a bag that looks a lot like a sack with sewn on arm straps. I'm using my bag from before and wearing my coat with my bow and arrows above, just in case. She's told her dad and right now is walking with me to 'my house'. Really we are heading into the forest.

"So what did the people look like you saw years ago?" I ask as we start trending into the darkness of the forest even though it's early morning.

"They were wearing black and all looked dark. They has really bulky bodies but I think they wore armer under the black." She replies as a twig cracks. I aim my bow around. "It was probably just a squirrel." I nod as we keep going, my box over my back.

The map is very detailed with pictures of major land marks. We have passed the big tree with four routes and the one spot where light flows threw.

"The stream is supposed to be around here somewhere." Says Honey as we look around. The feint sound of water is near by and we follow the sound carefully.

We reach the stream and dip our feet in.

"Soooo cold." Says Honey, but she keeps her feet in. I just nod, looking across the small stream to the darkness on the other side. Suddenly a shadow moves and some feint light reflects off something silver.

"There's someone there." I tell Honey as we stand up, weapons in hand.

"Who's there?" Calls Honey as another flash moves. The darkness is bugging me so I quickly light the small lantern of ours Honey brought. There's a whizz and the light is put out. Looking down I see a medium length silver sword is stuck in the wood of a tree behind the lantern. I quickly pull it out and hand it to Honey who takes it and admires it quickly.

"I'll be keeping this." She whispers to me as we look around.
