Dear Maddie,

How dare you make me cry!?

I know that you are shy. We have the same personality. Of course I know that you would be shy.

It hit me too, that you were actually moving.

As long as we're disclosing secrets here, I want you to Private Message or text me for something that I probably need to tell you.

And with the other kids, there are countless YouTube videos for the first day of school, but I will still give you some advice.

1. Don't bring everything to every class. Just bring a pen and a spiral and you'll be fine.

2. Want to talk to somebody but don't know how to break the ice? ask to borrow a pencil and slip in, "by the way, I'm new here. My name is Maddie." It will most likely start a conversation.

3. Don't freak out. Act like you know what's going on and everything will be okay.

4. Ask teachers for help to get to classes. Getting verbal directions are almost always better than a crappy map.

5. If people are mean to you, call me and I will kick their imbecilic butts.

Yours truly,

Lindsay
