Fire Pearl

Regular teenage life was hard to accomplish in this town. Every 20 years, 1 of every 10 teenagers in the town around age 13 are told they must run off, into the mist of heavens mountains, to find a pearl. About 40 teenagers are sent, and only 10 can return. Ten pearls lie around the mountains, including the water pearl, earth pearl, fire pearl, poison pearl, kind pearl, ice pearl, honest pearl, sunlight pearl, night pearl, and eternal beauty pearl AKA the life pearl.

I have been told I am one of 40 teenagers. I'm Maylynn, or May for short. And my journey to find the pearl has begun.

THE CHOSEN

I found out who was chosen. The chosen 40 Teens are:

Millie, Zoe, Jacob, Katie, Oliver, Kyle, Alpha, Charlie, Elle, Jacee, Derek, Ben, Aimee, Bethany, Olivia, Veronica, Nellie, Chloe, Maylynn, Stella, Allison, Henry, Harry, Percy, Alec, William, Peter, Brody, Zack, Bodie, Sara, Xander, Alysa, Nori, Rana, Ash, Melina, Lili, Drake and Miranda.

Our names are written on shirts and hats to wear on the adventure. 30 will die in the mountains, or left to die and rot. I'm terrified to leave home, to go to the misty heavens mountains, where dragons, monsters and many more lurk in each dark place. Every 20 years, the 10 pearls are reborn, and must be fetched by young teens of youth, and once each 10 pearls are back in our city, the city gets happiness for 20 years, until the pearls are reborn once more. And it continues forever.
