The man walked my way, each step echoing in my head.

He was tall and wore a long, black cloak with a cross necklace. He was dressed as a churches father, a priest. His presence alone was intimidating and his appearance was enough to make even a pure blood vampire feel insignificant.

Though he was dressed as a priest, he was nothing like those from a pure church. He was a vampire who staged himself as a holy person.

His hair was slick and black, his skin pale with little signs of aging so you could just barely tell he was in his thirties. His appearance was a mere disguise, hiding the beast within him.

He was a monster, a killer. He was like me.

His sharp eyes and deadly stare was enough to make your insides shudder.

He smelled of blood and smoke and most of all, death.

A slight smile tugged away on his face, but that smile wasn't made of good intentions.

Every part of him sent a warning throughout my body telling me to run, telling me to flee while I still had the chance.

But I didn't have a chance, not against him.

"I've been searching for you, Aidan." the mans deep and haunting voice echoed as he stopped right in front of me.

Fear clung to me as if it were part of my soul, and for all I know, it could have been.

Even my inner demon wouldn't dare show his face to this man.

Why not to this man....?

My eyes locked onto his for a brief second and I regretted every moment of it. Like daggers, his eyes stabbed right through me as his grin began to widen.

I slowly backed up while trying to hide my fear that I knew he sensed.

My hands began feeling around for something- anything! I needed something to at least give me a chance.

But there was nothing.

There was always nothing.

"What do you want?" I asked with a strong voice yet my head was facing downward.

Only in my voice, did my confidence show.

My body knew much to well that looking up at such an intimidating man would do me no good.

"I've come for you. I will give you two choices but either way, I'll get what I want." He spoke as he pulled out a cigarette. The mans husky voice made me flinch in fright.

Only when you are put in situations like these do you realize just how weak you are.

You become limited to very few options, none of them being quite what you need to escape, none of them being what you need to live.

You can fight, sure, but you'll need more than just will power or hope.

If you fight when your as weak as I am, death is the only thing that will greet you.

Nobody likes to admit defeat, not even I, but I refuse to be stupid and let my pride be the death of me. I know my current situation, I know just how much of a power difference there is between us.

"My choices?" I asked with my hands clenched into fists.

Blood dripped onto the floor as I squeezed my fingers into the gash where my palm had been cut open.

There was a slight pain, not much, but is was there. The injury was more serious than I thought. I hadn't even realized that the thick, stake driven wood had gone through my hand completely.
