Mia Rose's POV.

She studied me for a while uneasiness on her face. Then she turned to look at the bathroom door. Like it had all the answers.

I had questions and she had the answers. She shook her head like she was having an internal conversation with herself.

"I didn't mean to send you the wrong address I was so caught up on trying to get things done so that I could see you but I made a mistake." She spoke ever so soft. I didn't know if I was allowed to interrupt or wait for her to finish.

My thoughts were interrupted. "I work for my dad on the side so that I learn the business ropes and take over from him when he retires." She looked like she could be read in that moment but all I saw was darkness in the side of this face.

I wouldn't want to look at her face. The glint I was getting used to was probably gone and replaced with darkness. My insides turned in a bad way this time.

"My dad is involved in a lot of illegal stuff and he has a construction company (which pays good but not good enough) as a front. He's only let me in on this late last year. For a while I was hesitant until he got cancer and I was forced to get in the business because  his medical bills were very expensive." She continued. Still dodging the big question.

"The dark warehouse you were at today is one of the places he does his dealings." She was talking but  all of what she was saying wasn't what I wanted to hear.

"What dealings?" I asked. My patience running thin. I needed answers and I wasn't going to leave without any. "All sort. He first smuggled diamonds and then gold and silver. Soon it was drugs and lately human parts." She hardly got any of that out of her mouth because she knew like I did not only was human parts disgusting it also lacked morals.

This time I looked at her face. All sorts of emotions running loose and for a second I was sure I saw regret. Was for what she was doing or what was it for telling me. Bowing my head to play with the glass in my hand I didn't expect that I didn't even know how to respond.

"Please say something anything!?" She begged or demanded I wasn't sure which one was suitable. I needed air.

Nodding my head not sure why but the words came out of my mouth before my mind could register. "Explains the convertible." I said. She took a deep breath and ran a hand through her hair.

Her eyes far out in the distant world. "I didn't want anything to do with this and I didn't want to get involved but my mom was suffering." She said.

"Why did you move here?" I asked. My words showing not sincerity. She tensed up. "I-I killed someone which we were doing the exchange and I hardly slept back home that my father decided we move." She said.

"Do you sleep now?" I didn't want to be here. I wanted to in my cold house in my cold bed and with my nightmares.

"No but the thoughts and the visions are fading each day." She said. "My dad says its what I have to do to survive. And the first kill is never the easiest." She told me. And for once I looked up and saw different emotions.

Pain, suffering and guilt. She looked broken its like someone took her life and dictated how she lives it without her having a word in the issue it was the worse kind if pain.

"Who was the man?" I asked. The man with the velvet voice and the silver gun. The one who wore a balaclava.

"Gavin Jacob." She said. I felt the glass slip out of my hands and heard the noise it made on the marble floor. Bree looked at me worry in her eyes. My heart was beating a hundred times more than it did when I met him earlier.
