Bella:
"I..." I paused and took a deep breathe. Closing my eyes, I tried again. "I knew you were performing tonight, I've got a show here tomorrow, so we're already camped out in the bus lot. I wanted to talk to you about... what you said. I wanted to see if you were serious.. about singing together? If not, that's ok, but if so, I really wanted to try it.." I trailed off with my eyes still closed. "Eyes, Bella." Brantley rumbled. I snapped my gaze to his. His eyes were soft and warm. "I was very serious Bella, but is that why you were afraid? Do I frighten you?" He asked carefully, and moved back a few inches away from me. "No!" I exclaimed vehemently, and grabbed his hand, tugging him closer again. "Bradley forbid me to even considers it. He said I'm not allowed to sing with you, or talk to you. He doesn't want me around you at all." I pulled in a stuttered breath. Brantley growled, and without warning, he lifted my small body into his lap, cradling me close to his chest. I cuddled in further, curling up and hiding from the world. I couldn't help it. Being held by Brantley felt like coming home. It felt good. Right. "Let me tell you one thing, if you wanna sing with me, then you're gonna sing with my little one. You wanna see me, I'll make damn sure that you do. That manager of yours doesn't own you, Bella. Don't let him put you into a box that you don't fit into." Brantley said. I nodded silently, only sniffling a little. "I'm tired of being someone I'm not. I don't want to be anyone's puppet anymore. I want to be free." I whispered. "So cut the strings. What's stopping you?" He asked with a small smile. "What if I fall on my face?" "You see these big ol hands? I give you my word, these hands will be there to catch you. I promise you Bella, I won't let you fall." Brantley rumbled. I could feel his voice vibrating up through his chest. The look in his eyes went hot, I shivered. Before I knew it, Brantley pressed his mouth to mine, softer than I imagined he would be, gentle even. "Let me break those chains holding you back baby.." he whispered and kissed me again. "Let me show you how good it could be..." another kiss. This one deep and powerful as he compel Stelly took control of my mouth, my body. "All you gotta do is say yes girl.." he growled. "Yes." I said surely, then I leaned in and kissed him this time.
