now i'm wearing something low cut
'bout to get attention from a grown up

~

a year later

'button up your shirt, miss.'
were the morning greetings
for my father.

i followed his orders,
just to put it back
how it was later.

"good morning to you too, appa."
i say sarcastically,
"i see you had a good night's sleep."
he didn't respond.

after that day,
my father and i
have never been the same.
i've completely changed
my whole good girl reputation.
and appa was new soori's biggest fan,
as expected.
i'm surprised he haven't disowned me
as yet.

my 13 year old sister sae eun
comes from downstairs,
fully dressed in her uniform.

"good morning, appa!"
she sang,
skipping her way to him
to kiss his cheek.

he informed us
that he was going to shanghai
for some business trip.

he is a ceo
of a big electronic company.
this rich, 47 year old,
widowed man,
left with three girls
to raise himself.

i grabbed my bag and phone
and left the house,
without a word.

sae eun,
doing the same,
wished appa a nice day
and safe trip.

daehyun, our driver,
opened the doors for us.

the ride was mostly quiet,
until sae eun asked questions
about school.
it was her first year
in high school.
so i let her ask
as much questions
as her little big brain
could come up with.

i ask her
about her classes.

"they're just fine.
i'm passing all.
but all my teachers
either mistake me for you
and unnie or
call me 'baby lee'.
it gets annoying sometimes."
she responded.

"how do you think
i felt with sejung?"
i chuckled,
referring to our
23 year old sister.

~

"did you do
the homework this time?"
yuna, my close friend,
asks as we walked to
literature class.

"do i ever
do homework,
yuna-ah?"
i rolled my eyes.
she nodded in
agreement.

"oh, i forgot to tell you.
hyonu came back from
the philippines!
he should be coming
back to school around
next week."

i didn't want to
hear about him.
i didn't want to
see him.
i didn't want to
think about him.

"please, yuna.
stop talking about him.
please change the subject."
i said in disgust.

"sorry."
she paused
realizing what she
had just said,
"why were you-"

"good day, class.
come in,
take your seats,
open your notebooks.
i'm about to start."
mr. min says,
calming the students down.

after about thirty minutes
into the lesson,
you,
–then an unknown man–
walks through the door,
closing it gently and
bowed to the class.

an exact replica
of mr. min
walked to the front
handing him
a pack of papers,
probably for his classes.

the pale skin,
small and slim figure,
and facial features
were exactly like mr. min,
but instead of
the dark brown hair,
it was mint.

"excuse me, class."
mr. min said,
turning to you.
the class turned
to have their own conversations.

"who is that?"
i drooled.

"that's min yoongi,
mr. min's younger brother."

"younger?
how old is younger?"

"he's got a girl."

"yuna-ssi,
since when
did i ever care?"

she sighed,
"he's about twenty-four,
twenty-five."
i hummed,
ready to jump
out of my seat.
i fixed my shirt,
popping some buttons
and showing some cleavage.

"ri, what shit are you
tryna pull now?"
she whispered
as i got up from my seat
heading towards
the two men,
deep in conversation.

"mianhe,
but mr. min,
may i use the restroom?"
i asked interrupting
you guys.
he nodded as you stared.

i skipped out the classroom,
going to the bathroom
to see how i looked.
after, i roamed the halls.
walking back and forth,
i spotted a familiar figure.
i saw this as a great opportunity.

i started walking your way,
as if i was walking back
to the classroom.
i swayed my hips as i walked.

"haven't your folks
taught you manners.
that was very rude back there."
you said,
stopping me in my tracks.

that's not what
i had in mind.

"oops. i'm sorry.
in my defense,
i did say excuse me."
i said sarcastically.

"don't try me, little girl.
respect your elders.
what's your name?"

"lee soori."

"soori?"
you repeated in shock,
"you're sejung's
baby sister right?"

i hate that word.

"little sister.
younger sister.
not baby sister.
i'm not a baby."

"baby sister.
i like baby sister.
because you are a baby."

"i'm not, though.
i do whatever
the fuck i want."

"hey! stop cussing.
but, keep that shitty attitude
in the real world,"
you said,
"you'll be in for
a rude awakening."

"nice to meet you,
baby sister of sejung."
you chuckled,
walking to the exit of the building.

bitch.

annoyed as fuck,
i entered the classroom
and plopped in my chair.

"welcome back, miss lee.
thank you
for coming back this time."
mr. min said sarcastically.
i rolled my eyes
in response.

"i'm guessing it
didn't work as planned.
huh?"
yuna whispered,
chuckling.

"shut the fuck up."
