I'm waiting in the common room for George and Fred, but they're nowhere to be found. I sigh in frustration and wait for five more minutes. Once I realize that they're not coming downstairs, I walk up the boys' dormitories. I knock softly.
No answer.
I knock again, a little bit harder this time.
Still no answer. I groan and open the door, only to be found alone in the room. "Where are they?" I ask myself while looking around.
Nothing gets my attention, so I exit, bumping on someone. I look at the boy in front of me.
Harry.
I blush and look at him wide eyed, as he eyes me suspiciously. "What were you doing in there?"
"I was looking for Fred and George, but they're not inside."
"They're at the Great Hall.. Didn't they wake you like always?" he asks, seemingly debating whether to believe me or not.
"No.. They didn't. What are they doing there?" I ask, still feeling frustrated.
"They're just sitting.. Anyways, we should probably get there. I heard that Dumbledore plans on cancelling the Quidditch match this year."
"Really? Let's get going then!" I say and grab his wrist, pulling him along.
Once we get there, everyone has already gathered. We make our way to the other Gryffindors. I scoot between Fred and George, since they motioned me to. Harry sits next to Ron And Ginny.
"Where were you two?" I ask them as if scolding them. They both look at each other, sharing a knowing look.
"Well?" I ask impatiently.
"We have good news for you!" Fred chirps, squeezing my shoulder playfully.
"Which are..?"
"You're a Seeker substitute!" they both tell me quite loudly, causing many students nearby to glare at us.
"Really?" I ask excitedly and quite loudly.
They both chuckle and reply "Really."
"Didn't Dumbledore say something about cancelling this year's matches?"
"Well.. he did say something like that because of that Dementor yesterday, but he hasn't given a sure answer yet."
After a few minutes, Dumbledore rises from his seat, causing everyone to swallow their tongues. The rumors Harry had heard were right. Quidditch is cancelled for this year. Once the twins hear this, they start complaining, along with other students.
"That's rubbish!" they both yell. But something very unexpected replaces it.
Yule Ball.
. . .
The students from the other schools have arrived. Right now, I'm having detention with George, for getting caught pranking Filch. Fred managed to get his butt off the blame, surprisingly enough. So now, we sit quietly in the classroom, while everyone else is outside having fun.
"Quiet Miss L/N!" Snape warns. I click my tongue in annoyance and look at George again.
"What?" I ask. He takes a deep breath.
"Well... I want to ask a girl to the prom," he says shyly.
I feel my heart dropping. I swallow my feelings and hide them.
"Just ask her. I'm sure she'll say yes." I admit my opinion.
"Easy for you to say.." he mutters, then sighs. I place a comforting hand on his shoulder.
"Trust me. She'll say yes. But who is she anyway?" I ask, curiosity dominating me.
"You'll find out pretty soon." he says with a smirk on his face, which makes me blush and mentally scold myself for getting my hopes up.
Do you think he...?
