For Calypso

I heard a bang. The most heart shattering, terrifying thing is the explosion of a gun in the middle of a mission.

"Who's gone? I didn't hear anything, did anyone get hit?" I whispered harshly.

"I think we're all okay sir, we need to keep moving," Renaldo replied, pushing me further.

"Where's Cal?" I asked, looking back at my men for that curly hair.

"You sent her ahead, remember? She has to distract them, with her... womanly charms, as you put it? Remember, you exploded at each other, again?" he smirked.

"Don't smirk at me like that. I could fire her whenever I want to, she's not essential," I snarled.

"No you couldn't, you couldn't bare to let her go," he replied, cocking his gun.

"You're wrong. Have you heard the signal?" I muttered, averting my eyes ahead.

"No, I think we should move ahead, it's been long enough-" he was interrupted by the quiet coo of a bird.

"That's it, go go go. Find the emerald so we can get it to our client. Take nothing else." I ordered, ushering my pirates forward. They ran ahead, quickly searching the various rooms of the mansion. I waited until they ran ahead before running into the foyer myself. None of them had ran through here, expecting there to be mansion staff and masters in that room.

"Calypso?" I said quietly, looking around the dark room.

"Over here," her quiet voice replied, oddly strained.

"Can I light some lanterns?" I asked.

"Up to you," I heard her shuffle around the room.

I lit the lantern, looking around the room, "wow, expensive furnishings.

"No kidding," she tied her long coat shut, covering whatever she had exposed to get the masters to pay attention to her.

"How did you get all of them to sleep so quickly?" I asked, poking one of the servants with my boot.

"A little magic, a scarf around my nose and a tiny bomb I made knocked them out real quick," she said, sitting down heavily.

"Are you alright? You're acting strange," I looked at her with a raised eyebrow.

"I'm fine. Happy I could help with the mission," she crossed her legs, sitting back.

"Alright, help me look?" I asked, shuffling through the papers on the desk.

"I think it's best if I just sit down for a while. I'm just tired," she closed her eyes, her hands folded tightly against her side.

"You were fine coming in here," I said suddenly suspicious.

"I just gassed seven people, Miles! What do you expect?" she hissed.

"Something's wrong with you, open your coat," I ordered.

"I'm fine!"

"You called me Miles, something is wrong. Open your coat," I shouted. She scrambled out of her seat, holding it closed and backing away from me.

"No, Miles."

"Open your coat. Are you hurt? Did they do something to you? What are you hiding?" I stalked towards her.

"Miles, please. Leave it be. I'm fine," she continued to back away.

"No, I won't leave it be. Show me what they did to you."

She backed over one of the servants, falling on her back. Calypso screamed, her eyes closing and tears streaming down her cheeks.

"Cal, Cal what happened, what's wrong?" I scrambled over to her, grabbing her hands.
