can i just-

*sighs in fifty languages*

this chapter's topic is koreaboos.

oh yes. koreaboos.

there tends to be a nEVER ENDING SUPPLY OF THEM ON WATTPAD-

i mean w h a t ?

kay, here's the thing.

i don't mind if someone really appreciates korean culture-in fact, i find it flattering that people can appreciate the beauty of the culture given to me by my ancestors.

however, fetishizing my culture is a completely different story.

whenever i see people-i mean typically white people, no offence to those that are white-that say bullshit like "i wish i was born korean" or whatever, i want to s l a p t h e m.

and im going to be honest here, im not 100% sure about my culture and what is seen as offensive and what is not, however i can say that it makes me feel extremely uncomfortable when a non-korean person wears a hanbok just so they can be "more korean"

so yeah.

two: korean beauty standards.

plenty of times peole have approached me, asking if i'm korean.

i'd reply, yes i am korean, how did you know?

and they'd say one of either two things.

well your last name is 'kim' so ofc i knew you were korean
