Chapter 4: Bad news.
Recap:
We run up and I jump on Eli's back.
He yells, and flips me around.
"You feel like a feather, I barely noticed you on my back." He says.
I laugh and snatch the cookie out of his hands.
"HEY!" He yells, chasing after me.
Kody laughs at us.
I smile at Kody and laugh out loud.
Then, I'm crashed into by Eli.
"Give me it back!" He yells.
"NEVER! Kody, here take it, eat it, now!" I yell.
Kody takes the cookie, and shoves it down his throat.
"NOO!!!" Eli yells, tackling Kody.
I laugh harder.
"Why didn't you just eat the cookie?" Mikey asks.
"You and I both know that it would've gone to waste." I say.
He laughs, "True." He says.

I can't believe how easy I got along with everyone so quickly. I already want to be their friends, but I don't know if they'll actually be my friend. Also, I couldn't believe how nice they were to me.
Kody is driving me home right now. When we get near my house I see flashing lights. An ambulance. At Mark's house.
"Oh my gosh, Kody hurry please!" I yell.
He sped up and we get there. He gets out with me, as I go over to the ambulance.
"Excuse me? Can you please tell me what happened?" I say in a rush.
"This man needs to go to the ER, are you of relation?" The med asked.
"Yes, he's my guardian." I say.
"Get in the back, and we'll head off." He says.
I get in the back and turn to Kody, "Follow behind? Please?" I ask.
"Yeah, I'll follow." He says.
"Thank you." I say.
He nods.

I rush in with Mark on the bed.
"You have to stay put." The med says.
I sink back, and watch them take him away.
I feel hands on my shoulder. I jump, and see Kody behind me.
He holds his arms out. I hug him hard. I start to cry.
"Shh, you'll be okay." He says, rubbing my back soothingly.
"He's all I have left." I cry.
He takes my shoulders and makes me look at him, "That's not true, you have Violet, Eli, Eliana, Mikey, and me. You are not alone. I'll be here with you." He says.
"Thank you, Kody." I say.
"You should get some sleep. You can lay down and rest your head on my lap. If anything comes up, I'll wake you." Kody says.
