We hadn't seen the other survivors of the fire for fifteen years. It was odd to see them all fully grown and mature. But there was no joy left in them, no happiness or laughter. Just fat, blue, salty tears.

They were desperately pounding on the door, as if they were being chased by some sort of wild animal. As soon as I opened the door to let them in, co leader, Raina wrapped both of her arms around me.

"Solji! You have no idea what we've been through!" She wept.

"Come inside, all of you." I instructed. "It's so cold out there, you must be freezing."

I called T.O.P, who hurried down the stairs as fast as he could. He politely ordered a girl called Yeri, who happened to be in the room at the time, and I to make some dandelion tea. It isn't as fabulous as it sounds, it is literally just hot dandelion water.

One girl, Jiwoo, another person with telekinesis, was weeping her eyes out while her friend, Somin, a girl who could control water, comforted her.

"Where is J.Seph, by the way?" T.O.P asked handing her a pocket handkerchief.

"He's gone." Somin explained flatly.

"What do you mean?" I pondered. "The guy's immortal, isn't he?"

Jiwoo looked up at me with damp, red eyes and shook her head. "He's not anymore."

"What does that mean?" I questioned further, handing a boy called Baekhyun his tea.

"People with scary knives and loud guns came from the south..." said a girl named Seohyun with wild and scared eyes who was crouched in the corner holding her tea in a shaking hand.

"They had a machine. The sort of thing that looked like it could mince somebody." Somin continued tucking her hair behind her ear. "They got J.Seph."

"He was only missing for the evening, so we suspected nothing." Suho sighed staring down at the carpet, clearly shaken by what he'd seen. "It was only the next morning that his cold and stiff body was left on our doorstep."

I put a hand over my mouth to stop me from gasping. HE WAS IMMORTAL! How on earth could he have been dead?!

"We sent Nana, Raina and Lizzy off to investigate." Jiwoo said, gesturing toward the three girls in another corner. "They went off into the woods and they found this."

She handed T.O.P a picture of a forest clearing with a circle of people, they were all holding hands and sitting around a large mechanical object.

"What does it do?" Yeri asked carefully, making sure she wasn't treading directly on glass.

"Well if I am right, it's a machine which extracts souls and power out of our kind. Something which just takes the living daylights right outta you." A boy named Cory said taking a sip of tea before turning his nose up. I couldn't say I blamed him, I hated the stuff myself.

"Well your safe now." T.O.P reassured.

"No!" Seohyun blurted out, slightly angrily. "None of us are safe!"
