(Carters POV)

So I followed my parents into the living room wher they sat across from me on the other couch which meant I was in trouble. My mind started racing as to what I could have done.

"I didn't mean to eat the last cupcake and hit the mailbox with my car or feed Jakes pet a french fry. He looked hungry."

"Umm Carter, were not here to talk about any of that. Wait, you're the one who hit the mailbox?" My Mama said

"Uh no." My Mama did not look happy

"Okay buddy, we just want to talk to you and we want you I know that we're not mad at you so don't feel that way."

"Can y'all just tell me what I did? I'm starting to sweat."

"Your parents know you're fucking the pretty brunette girl with the freckles. Lacy." My Nana said

"Mama! How did you get in here and her name is Leah?" My Mama said. My mom just smiled and shook her head

"Is this why y'all called me in here?" I asked. I was really starting to sweat

"Yes but I think it would be better if spoke about this with just him Mrs. Ellison." My mom said

"Fine." She walked out of the living room leaving us alone

"Trust me, that is not how we wanted to start this off." My Mama said

"Yeah I know. Nana is crazy but this is about me having sex?"

"Yes. Your brother was in your room and found a condom in there. You're 18 now so I'm not mad at you but I just want to make sure you know what you're doing." My mom said. Before I could say anything I noticed my mama getting emotional. It's nothing new though. She's always like that and it's something you get used too

"Mama please don't start crying." I said

"I'm sorry. I just remember when you were 7 and you walked in my second classroom. You had a mess of curly red hair and your shoes were untied and when fell in front of the whole class Every one started laughing except Leah. She helped you up and you two have been inseparable ever since. I did not know that 11 years later I'd be having this talk with you." There was a lot of sniffling between most of those words. My mom laughed and rolled her eyes

"Listen kiddo, as long as your using protection I don't care. Just be respectful to Leah and try to come to us about things like this."

"I didn't mean to keep it a secret. Trust me I've thought about how I was going to bring it up to y'all but it's kind of hard to talk about things like this when neither one of your parents is a guy." Their faces instantly changed. I didn't mean it like that but it's the truth. I felt terrible after I said it and wished I could take it back. "I didn't mean it like that. It's just tha-"

"It's fine. We know what you meant. Trust me, we've had this conversation a million times over the last 9 or 10 years. We have 2 more boys after you so we've been trying to prepare ourselves for conversations like this and just decided you have 4 uncles to choose from. Well 3. Don't talk to your uncle Danny." My mom said making all of us laugh

"Hey, if it helps when your mama was 18 I caught her having sex with her boyfriend. He was very handsome but from what I saw he had a tiny pecker. I pray your biological parents blessed you because that poor girl is just going to be miserable forever." My Nana said making her way back

"Mama please. Just please let us have this conversation and leave me out of this." My Mama said.

Both of our faces were red with embarrassment and my mom's face was red from trying to hold in her laughter
