Ahh. The sun feels so good on my skin. It's so soothing.
I can fall asleep under it. Like Calvin almost did.
Good thing we packed the umbrella. Getting kisses from the sun isn't as lovely as it sounds. Especially when first degree burns comes into play.
Its so beautiful out here today. The water crashing against the rocks. The sand soft between my toes.
I look around to see children playing, people laughing, families having picnics, while couples walk on the shore hands intertwined.
Couples together, that are in love.
Love.
Something that I have longed for.
"Calvin." I say sitting up on my elbows
"What is love?" I questioned. He opened his eyes with his brows lifted and turns to me on his side, clearly intrigued by my question.
"Love is everything." he states. "It so wonderfully destructive and yet it is elegant. Love can bring great joy and pain. Love brings out the best and worst in people. It shows their true selfs of what they hide behind a mask everyday. Love will make you do unspeakable things good or bad."
"How do know when you're in love?" His eyes gazes into mine.
"Love is like a powerful drug. Once you get a taste of Love you'll want more and more. You'll become addicted to it. Love can also bring fear and other negative emotions. You know you're in love when you feel an attachment toward someone that is on a spiritual level. You feel as though your souls were together once and you crave for that special warmth." He explains.
The sun is beginning to set. More people are starting to disappear.
"Listen Vasilios. There are many kinds of love. Love for a friend, a family member, an object, a hobby, even for yourself. But there are people out there who would take advantage of your love. Nowadays you gotta be careful who you give your heart to." He informed.
"Why do I have to be careful?" The question rolls off my tongue easily.
"There are some people out there that doesn't understand love or the concept of it. Love is an emotion and happiness is a choice."
The sky grows darker as the the sun disappears.
"Will I ever find true love Calvin?"
His eyes twinkle as he gave me the most sweetest smile I've ever seen.
"Of course you will. You have a sweet heart."
I couldn't help but smile at his statement.
So this what brotherly love feels like.
"Come on Vas lets go home."
