Christmas Dinner

Christmas was coming and Lauren was getting more and more stressed. She had told her parents that she would host the family dinner with her girlfriend Camila and now she totally regrets it. With Camila working for money to keep the house, Lauren had to do this all by herself. She had bought everything in preparation for the dinner but had no experience in cooking so this was going to be fun.

She made a list and ticked off everything to see if she had what she needed. She did. She left the list on top before sitting down and watching a bit of TV before Camila came home.

"HOLY SHIT!" Lauren yelled to herself as Camila walked through the door.

"What's wrong sweetie?" Camila asked.

"I FORGOT TO BUY GIFTS!!" She yelled. Camila laughed as she watched her girlfriend panic.

"Come on let's go" Camila said putting her hat back on.

"Wait! I gotta grab my coat" Lauren said.

"Okay I'll meet you in the car"

It was Christmas Eve and Lauren stress levels were sky high.

"This is going to be a disaster" she said in the verge of losing her mind.

"Babe, look at me" Camila said. Lauren looked up at Camila who stood next to her while Lauren sat on the couch.
"This Christmas is gonna be extra special, you wanna know why? Because we're together" Camila said.

"We we're together last year and 4 years before that" Lauren said.

"But this year it's here, in OUR house, with OUR family" Camila said.  Lauren smiled and stood up to kiss her girlfriend.

"I love you, you know that right?" Lauren said kissing her girlfriend again.

"I love you too" Camila said after they stopped kissing.

"MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!" Camila yelled as she jumped on Lauren in the bed.

"Merry Christmas babe" Lauren said with her morning raspy voice.
"What time is it?" Lauren asked.

"10am" Camila said.

"FUCK I NEED TO PUT THE TURKEY ON!!!!" Lauren said running downstairs in just a t-shirt.

Time went on and guests starting arriving. Camila and Lauren's family had arrived and sat around the dinner table. Lauren dished our the food and they all sat there in a comforting silence as they all ate the food Lauren had prepped.

"Lauren this is amazing" her mum said.

"Thanks mum, I'm so glad everyone's here" Lauren said as she placed her hand over Camila's hand. Camila gave her a small smile and continued to eat her food.

Camila offered to clean up after but Lauren insisted. After she was done she made her way into the living room to sit with everyone else.

"Hey babe, can you get my dad a beer?" Camila asked her.

"No problem I'll be right back" Lauren said. As she walked back in with the beer everyone was stood around in a half circle.
"Are we playing a game or...?" Lauren asked confused.

She jumped at the sound of Camila clearing her through behind her. She turned around and looked down to see Camila on one knee.

"I told you this would be a extra special Christmas. Now Lauren Michelle Jauregui will you marry me?"

"Yes!" Lauren said.
"I love you"

"I love you too" Camila said.
