The air in the gym felt incredibly tense.
For Samantha Blake, the only thing that keeps her going to school is her dance team, Vincitrici of Bronx. Her love for dancing is massive, bigger than anyone could ever imagine.
Dancing has always been the center of her life. The beautiful dream that she embraces every single night. The passion she's always eagerly lusting for.
But you know the saying. Life is like a rollercoaster.
It has it's ups and downs. But it's ultimately every man's (or woman's) choice to scream or enjoy the ride. As for now, Sam chooses to scream.
"What the hell is your problem with me?" Sam yells in frustration. She closes her eyes and takes a long deep breath, trying to calm herself.
"Nothing, actually." Victoria Rose smirks at her. She puts her arms on her hips arrogantly and continues to mock Sam.
"Well, it's nothing if you don't count the fact that you're my boyfriend's ex."
Sam couldn't believe her ears. Did she really just said that? Again? Cut it out.
"Really, Vic? I thought we're way past that topic." Sam takes a step closer to Victoria and manages to keep her face straight as hell.
She just can't take it any longer.
"Let me tell you again, Vicky. I don't like Brad anymore. He's a freaking manwhore. Just as you are." She stops for a second then smiles mischievously, "Minus the man, of course."
Vicky glares at her. All the other students that are watching them coo in sync.
"So that's how you wanna play huh, Blake? Thinking that you're the star in this school?" Vicky laughs, daring Sam in every single way possible. Sam clenches her jaw.
"Let me tell you this, Blake. I bet you've heard about The Color Run that's coming by the end of this semester?"
"As the matter of fact, I did, Rose. What about it?" Sam answers, a little bit too quickly. She knows exactly what she meant by that.
"I dare you to join the dance competition with your whole dance team. Wait. I don't think it's worth calling a team though, considering you only have four people." Vicky throws her head back, laughing hard.
Just like that, Sam loses it. She runs towards Vicky in sudden anger, ready to slap her freaking face across the room. Luckily, Kristen, her best friend slash her dance member, holds her back and says, "She ain't worth it, Sam."
"Can't touch me, can't you?" Vicky chuckles. "See you at the competition then, Blakey. Cheerio." Vicky laughs even harder and starts to walk away in arrogance, which triggers Sam a whole lot more.
Sam takes a deep breath once more, trying to convince Kristen that she's calmed herself. After a good long minute, Kristen lets go of her grip on Sam, who secretly still has something on her mind.
"Hey princess." Sam calls.
"What?" Vicky turns to Sam, once again annoyed to hear her voice.
"You may be a princess. But you can't beat a queen in her own game."
