I kissed her, without hesitation, it happened spontaneously. I did not even think about the consequences that would come along with it. All I knew was that I needed my lips on hers. I wanted that breath she was holding. It belonged to me, and I wanted it back. I pulled away, and never did I feel envy as much as I did at that moment. I wished I felt as blankly as her face showed. Her sparkling eyes were not sparkling anymore, they were empty. No emotions sufficed, nothing came out of her mouth. All she did was look at me, quietly.

The sirens were getting louder, the cars were getting closer, she turned to the cars' direction then back at me, the obstacle keeping her from running away into another life she planned on making. My heart ached thinking that all this time, all I've been was a burden she wanted to overcome a long time ago.

I moved aside while she gave me one last look, then disappeared into the dark streets, out of sight. I thought at that moment, that I would never see her again. Joey parked on the side, "God damn it Ryker again?" Joey said desperately. I nodded, that was all I was capable of doing anyway. I got in my car and went home, my heart still aching.
