Look at her in her that dress,

She sparkles and shines.

She's the definition of beautiful.

Sadly, she isn't mine.

I liked her since we were kids,

She was my first kiss.

As we grew older, we grew apart.

She moved to Japan, while I...

I stayed in the States.

We didn't see each other,

Until we were full grown adults.

I went to buy an engagement ring,

I had it all planned out.

She was attending a party of my friend's, and there I will ask her to marry me.

The time is now

She's in front of me and we're alone.

Ask her now, before you don't have a chance.

"Hey, Maribeth...", I start,

She looks at me and smiles a little.

I open my mouth,

But John Carlos, my friend, comes.

"Hey man, how's everything?", he asks me

I answer with a shrug, he looks at Maribeth and a smile pops up.

"Maribeth, I wanted to ask you something."

Her smile grows bigger,

And all I hear is my heart breaking

Into millions of pieces.

"Will you marry me?"

Now the wedding is here,

She's with him

And I'm alone.

I stand in the back of the alter,

Not saying anything.

"I do", "I do"

Clapping, cheers, and the wedding song.

She looks so happy beside him,

He looks happy beside her,

All I want is for her to be happy.

So why can't I be happy for her,

On this day of the WEDDING.
