Diamond^
The game began. Balls being thrown into the hoops and basketball players running around. Although I didn't pay attention to the real game, I mostly payed attention to August.
He was good at this game. He is the best on the team. Even got a scholarship to play at a college when he graduates.
"Staring at your man I see." Diamond teased while glaring over at me. My heart beat stopped as I looked over at her.
"No.." I mumbled. She giggled before grabbing onto my shoulder. Giving me a scowl that sent shivers down my spine.
"You don't have to lie." She smirked. I frowned at her sickening jokes and teasing. It was something she did in common when it came to him. Always annoying me.
"I'm not lying." I frowned. She giggled and turned her head back to the game. I turned my head as well.
Few minutes later.
The game was almost over. But of course I had to use the restroom. I gazed at myself in the mirror. Looking at all my futures. A sign parted from my lips before I headed back out.
I walked along the squeaky floors making way to the gymnasium. Everyone was cheering as August dumped the ball into the hoop. My heart dropped to my stomach as I notice him stumbling my way.
His body pushed me against the wall. He was inches away from my lips.
"Oops.. Sorry." He gave a soft smile. He backed away giving me a surprised look. "Didn't think I'll see you at our games." He laughed. I became flustered as I watched him tease me. The way he laughed was just overwhelming.
"Well.. there's a lot of things you don't know about me." I smirked. He chuckled as I looked behind him at his players who was looking at us.
"I should get back to the game. Nice talking, Ma." He waved goodbye as he ran back over to the game. I blushed at the nickname he described me in.
For some reason he was acting more open towards me. We usually never talked, but now it's different. Very surprising.
I walked up the stairs to the top bench where me and diamond sat. I sat down beside her. Of course she was smirking devilishly.
"I saw that between you two." She laughed. I groaned at her accomplishment to embarrass me.
"We was just talking." I exclaimed. She folded her arms giving me a devilishly smirk.
"Seems more then talking." She pointed out. I gave her a angrily gaze before turning my head back to the game.
My mind wasn't on the game though, it was on what happened between me and August. Why was he actually joking with me? We never talked. Only if we had projects together, nothing more. Shoot, he didn't even look at me before today.
I was so into thought I didn't realize my phone was blowing up with text messages from Alec.
"Um Harmony, Alec is texting you." She pointed towards my phone in my lap.
I looked down to see my screen full of messages. Questioning where I was and why I wasn't replying. I hesitated to respond but knew he would only yell at me tomorrow.
"Hey." I typed in the chat. My finger danced around the send button before finally hitting it. I wanted to jump off a roof at that moment, but I knew that would leave problems for my mom and Diamond.
A while went by and the game was over. Our school won by 20 points. Surprisingly. However I didn't really care about us winning, I only cared that I touched August today.
"Who you thinking about?" Diamond questioned while opening the school exit. I glanced over at her before walking out.
"No one." I muttered.
Was I lying? Of course, if I told her I was thinking about my future husband she would gush over it. Can't have that can we?
"Right.." she laughed. I gave her a annoyed scowl before something caught my eye. It was August talking to some of the basketball players.
"Nice game dude." One of the boys said while highfiving August. I watched mid view while hoping he didn't notice me staring.
"Thanks man." He smiled. I glanced over beside me at Diamond. She was staring as well. She was blushing, surprisingly. But why.
"Let's go." I spoke up. She looked over at me while nodding. We walked away from the school to her car.
Why was she blushing? She don't even blush with Tristian. Could she be blushing about one of the boys back there?
"So what did Alec text you about?" She spoke up. For some reason I felt like she wanted to make up a excuse to prevent me from asking why she was getting flustered.
"Nothing important." I manage to spat out. She gave me a soft smile before opening the drivers door. I got inside as well.
I was smiling like crazy, the guy I liked for so long was finally talking to me.
"Why you smiling?" She teased.
"Because he finally spoke to me." I giggled.
"Ah, you two are way better together then Alec." She exclaimed.
I glanced over at her with a smile before looking back out the window at the crowds of people walking out.
"I doubt that he likes me." I signed.
"Ha, he loves you." She gushed.
"I hate you." I frowned.
"You love me." She laughed.
