The Warrior's Terrace, 1300 hours
The players were lead out of the field after the pilot episode finished, escorted by staff that looked much like bodybuilders. They were herded into a bus and headed to what one of the staff called 'The Warrior's Terrace'. It was a temporary housing near the edge of Precinct 5, surrounded by lush gardens, a lake, and a Buddhist temple.
When they reached the place, they were gathered at the lobby of the main building and briefed by a female staff.
"Welcome," she said, almost mechanically, "to the Warrior's Terrace. This building is where you will train, have your meals, and lounge.
The next three nights, you will spend here. The ladies' quarters are to the left of this building, and the gentlemen's is right behind. You only need to follow the gravel path.
To the right is the temple. A few monks reside there so please be watchful of your behaviour. You may visit the gardens but do not attempt to swim or fish in the lake." As she finished saying this, someone giggled. Another person groaned. It was like a middle school trip.
She continued anyway, "We have revised a schedule and it is put up in your quarters. For tonight, you are free to act of your own accord."
With that, another one of the staff came in with a locked metal safe and set it on the counter in the lobby. It was their phones, laptops, cameras, even mp3 players. The man scanned a chip over the reader and the safe unlocked.
They all scrambled towards the safe, retrieving their belongings. It was empty in mere seconds.
Then the two staff walked out of the building and drove away in a black van with heavily tinted windows.
"So," Rain walked a little further away from the group, "Jessica, let's talk." He took her wrist and they walked up the stairs, where they met a hallway with windows on the right and four doors along the left. It was like a school.
Jessica opened one of the doors and it revealed a training room. She should have known considering the boxing glove symbol on the door.
At the center of the room was a wrestling ring. To the left were four punching bags, and to the right of the room were some equipment; boxing gloves, an unopened box of mouth guards (hopefully unused), hand wraps neatly rolled up and placed on top of what looks like a first aid kit.
"Wow." Rain looked around as he stepped into the room. "They're really prepared."
"You said you wanted to talk to me." Jessica changed the subject.
"Yeah, they said stuff about abilities. Do you know anything about it? I don't want to discuss with anyone else because I might give away too much."
"Oh, yeah." Jessica locked the door, and returned to face Rain. "I know a bit."
"Did I miss something? They didn't tell me anything about that."
"Apparently they only give abilities to one person in a pair." Jessica said. She took out her phone and showed him a screenshot of the message.
"Huh. So what did you pick?"
Jessica was unsure at first, but Rain raised an eyebrow. She opened her mouth, "I don't know, it doesn't really matter."
