Natalie's POV-
After about maybe 3 seconds of time for myself, I hear someone yell my name behind me. At first it felt like someone whispered from far away then it got steadily louder and louder. It couldn't have been me they were calling for right? I turn around to see Louise! (Yep I'm going there.) Louise was another girl I went to high school with. She was the prettiest and by far the nicest girl I've ever met in my life. Why would she be here? She's not a gamer at all.
"Oh my God, it's you!" She gasped, holding out her arms in a hug. I would have to be cold blooded not to say no to that.
After we embraced, I held her away at arms length in that sort of "Is it really you?" kind of expression on my face.
I finally got the strength to speak. "It's really you! What brings you here?"
"Business opportunity. I've gotten an internship at a fashion magazine."
"God, you're going places! I'm so happy for you!" I smiled. "I've missed you so much."
"Awe I've missed you too. High school went by too fast. Anyways, I heard Alesa's going to Seattle as well! Is it true?"
I nodded as we walked to the boarding area. "Yep she's going to PAX Prime. Never thought she was a big gamer but I guess I shouldn't judge."
"Huh, yeah. It'll be great to have the old gang back again." Louise gazed out the window facing the plane, her eyes traveling beyond the Tarmac. She shook her head out of her daze and shoved her hands in the back pockets of her jeans and turned to me. "Nice seeing you again. Where're you staying in Seattle so we can see each other?"
"Um, I actually don't know. I'm going with some friends that-" I looked towards Mitch, who was seated on the chairs, "HAVENT TOLD ME WHERE I AM STAYING DURING PAX." Louise giggled, her hand concealing her mouth.
"We're renting a house dummy." Mitch said.
"Thanks, hon." I grinned sarcastically. "I'll text you the address later." I said as I turned back to Louise.
"Okay! See you soon then!" She walked away, her small carry on bouncing up and down as she walked to the nearest restroom.
"Who's that?" Mitch asked as I sat down next to him. He put down his phone and laced his hand in mine lovingly.
"High school friend." I said vaguely. "We were best buddies." My tone said that the conversation was over. I never liked to reminisce about my past.
*click* "Flight 293 to Seattle, Washington now boarding. First class may start boarding." *click*
"We're not in first class right?" I asked, taking my phone out of my pocket.
"You think wrong, Ms. Natalie." He pulled out two first class tickets with a smile upon seeing my surprised face. I leaned in towards his face and kissed his lips.
"Aweeeee! MATALIE!!!" Mat shrieked. He came up behind Mitch and wrapped him arms around his neck happily.
"Shut up." Mitch laughed, prying Mat's fingers from around his neck.
Rob came up behind him. "Doods we gon' miss first class boarding!"
We grabbed our bags and waited in line. Once our tickets were checked, we walked down the twisting and turning walkway to the plane. I inhaled the sharp, pungent smell of the plane and exhaled. I felt Mitch's hand slowly reach down to clasp my own. It was our adventure and it was just about to start.
Mat and Rob sat across from us, with Rob already sitting back with his chair leaning back and sleeping mask on his eyes and Mat taking advantage of the neck pillow and table situated between the two.
The flight lady showed us the evacuation routes, how to inflate the life preservers and all the usual things.
I kind of dozed off after a while, my head resting on Mitch's shoulder which I didn't know I did until Mat posted something about it on Instagram. Little bitch.
Something nudged my shoulder, at first I pushed it off but whoever or whatever it was, pushed harder. They were saying my name. My eyes slowly opened, seeing my boyfriend's face looking at me with his hand on my shoulder. "Hey babe. Plane landed." He whispered.
"Mh hmm." I muttered and I reached for my back pack under my seat and instantly found my iPhone. 8 missed texts and 2 missed phone calls. So the world has started to make my phone active all of the sudden.
I turned back to look at Mitch, who was looking away, grabbing my carry-on bag from the top compartment while his own was slung on his shoulder. Mat was behind him, packing up his own things."Come on Nat! The fans await!"
I rolled my eyes."Yeah okay." Like I wanted to see any more fans now. "Let me get my back pack."
After walking off the plane, I inhaled the fresh air and smiled contently. It was night time in Seattle and the only light was by the ceiling and wall lamps and neon information signs.
I looked around at the place I swore I would never come back to a few years ago and sucked up my courage. "Come on we need to go get Mat's suitcase."
"Adam should be there too." Mitch said under his breath. Why'd he say that so quietly?
We rode the escalator down to the baggage claim. "Flight 293, 293, 293..." I muttered to myself. "FOUND IT." I pointed to the baggage claim labeled 293, getting some weird stares from an elderly couple sitting by an elevator.
Mat gave a slow clap. "Hah, thanks."
"No probs biggums."
"Hey!" An unfamiliar person by the baggage claim waved at the four of us.
"Adam!"
