Zyier had just walked through the door when Fatima walked up to him and kissed him. He watched her as she walked off and followed behind his girl. He loved her, but he loved the streets too. He wasn't sure he was ready to give up that life just yet, but he knew that he didn't want to lose a girl like Fatima. So lying to her and telling he was done seemed like his only option right now, at least until he could get her to understand. The fast life was addicting and that money made love to him like he was a virgin. "Hey Zyier." Faith spoke as they all sat down at the table. "What's up?" He spoke back, as Fatima sat a plate in front of him. She really hoped they all enjoyed the food because she worked really hard on it. Taking her seat, she put Faith on the spot. "Sis would you like to pray over the food?" Faith looked at her like she had two heads on her body. Xavier busted out laughing, "how you gonna ask Satan to pray? I'll do it man. Bow your heads and clear your minds. Lord we thank you for the food that you have put on the table for the nourishment of our bodies. We ask you to bless the hands that prepared the food. In the name of Jesus. Amen." Everybody responded with "amen" and began to eat. "Damn bae.You stuck your foot in this didn't you?!" Zyier bit into the steak and scooped up a spoon full of Mac and cheese to follow behind it. They all agreed that the food indeed was popping. "So you guys, I made the dean's list again!" Fatima exclaimed excitedly. "That's what's up!! You keep on and you gonna be the best lawyer in the school." Xavier said smiling at her. "Yeah that's really good sister. I'm proud of you." Faith said touching her hand and smiling. It meant a lot to her that her sister was following her dreams. Fatima smiled and soon it became quiet as everyone ate their food.
"Man I'm stuffed! I can't eat another bite." Fatima said getting up from the table and grabbing the bottle of wine to fill everyone's glasses back up. "Girl is you tryna get us drunk?" Xavier said watching as she filled his glass to the rim. "Yep! Loosen everyone up." Fatima said sitting back down once she poured Faith's drink. "I'm loose. What about you Zyier?" Xavier said loosening his tie. "What is that supposed to mean?" Zyier sat up in his chair and turned towards X. "It don't mean nothing nigga calm down. I'm just saying, after a long day of running the streets.." Xavier let his words trail off making Faith clear her throat. "Um so X. When are we gonna go out?" She asked Xavier grabbing his knee under the table. Shit was gonna get real, real fast if someone didn't stop it. "We are not." He said placing her hand back on her own knee. "Sis we can't date. You know that. It's against the code." He said making Zyier laugh. "You might as well go with her. Cuz you damn shole can't have my girl." Zyier said putting his arm around Fatima. "Nigga let's get something straight." Xavier stood up making Fatima stand up. "Hey this is not how this was supposed to go down. Y'all are grown men and you're behaving like children!" Fatima stormed out of the dining room, and soon they could hear the front door open and close. Zyier rubbed his hand across his face and stood up. "See what you did man." He said bumping into Xavier and walking off to catch Fatima. "Well damn." Faith laughed as she took a swig of her wine.
