She sat in the water filled bathtub. It was cold after hours of laying there in a thin, white nightdress. She had expected it to turn a clear red, but no matter how much pressure she used against her dainty wrist, her body wouldn't listen and in the end, she gave up, throwing the sharp, silver object across the small, dirty bathroom that was now as cold as the water in the tub.
She looked out the small window near the rusted shower head. It was late November. She expected to be home after long hours of studying to become what she probably needed the most; a therapist.
She looked at the long mirror attached to the door. She was pale, skinny, and had large dark circles around her under eyes. She moved her back slightly, the purple bruises covering her spine moving with the bone. She sighed, standing up as water spilled to the ground.
Looking back into the mirror once more, she saw something white and flaking fall to the dead ground. As if on cue, hundreds more fell with a shaky sound like bells. Her breath turned a pale, transparent white as her shivering became rhythmic.
Then, the girl had an idea.
