Stella walked through the tea room like she owned the place. The maids all turned their heads in the other directions, letting her through. Stella's green eyes were narrowed on the back of Thomas Shelby's head, not at all happy tith him.
She put on a lovely smile as she approached the table "We won't be needing more tea." the Inspector grumbled, the two men were locked in a stare down. "Oh no, Mr. Cambell, I'm not a maid." Tommy looked up upon hearing her voice, shocked, how did she know he was there? Inspector Cambell looked at her confused "Who are you?" he asked as a maid placed a chair down at the table with the men and Stella sat "Thank you, Sara." she smiled at the woman before looking back to the men.
"I'm here to talk business. That's why you're here, correct?" she asked looking at both of the men "This meeting is between me and Mr. Shelby, I have no business with you so go away." the Inspector was growing annoyed with her "Oh, but see this business involves my business and I will not sit by and let two men talk about my business." she smiled at the annoyed glares she received from both men.
"I assume Mr. Shelby has already given quite the list of demands." she looked over Thomas before looking to the Inspector "Well I'd like to add to them. The canals are to be left alone, and you and your men abide by my rules." he scoffed "Your rules? Who do you think you are? The King?" he asked incredulously. Stella smiled "No, darling..." she lit a cigarette and exhaled its smoke "...I'm the Reaper." She leaned back in her chair, the Inspector went silent and his face fell.
"I believe you already know what happens to men who break my rules." she flicked her ashes and they flitted to the ground landing on the Inspecter's polished black shoes. He looked from his foot to her "I believe he was following your orders, Inspector. Shame as well, ruined a good dress, he did." she puffed her cigarette watching as the inspector's face went red in anger, his fists clenched.
He ordered one of his men to find out who the Reaper was they found him with his skull blown to bits the next morning. "He had a wife and son." the inspector growled "And they got their compensation." she said nodded. "Why would I do anything either of you ask?" the Inspector asked narrowing his eyes at the two.
Stella exhaled her smoke and smiled a bit "Because, he has what you're looking for." Tommy's eyes shot to her "I don't know what you're talking about." the Inspector lied "All in a crate bound for Libya, stolen from the BSA factory proofing bay. I'm guessing they sent you to Birmingham to get those guns back." She spoke staring at her cigarette, watching it burn.
Tommy cursed her but went along with it. "It's me that has them. I have left word with men I trust that if I am taken into police custody for whatever reason, those guns will be shipped to Liverpool. From there they will be sent directly to Belfast and sold to the Irish Republican Army. All your good work in Ireland would be undone. Each stolen weapon is numbered and marked. If I sell them to the IRA, it won't be long before Mr. Churchill finds out. I imagine you got into enough trouble over the burning of the King's photographs. That was just a taster." Tommy leaned forward and spoke low. "If those guns reach Belfast, your life in the force is over. When I have achieved what I have set out to achieve, I will let you know where to find the guns. You'll be a hero. You'll probably get a medal. I'm a fair man. It's a fair offer."
Stella looked the inspector over knowing that he had no other choice unless he wanted a war on his hands. "Do we have a deal?" she asked "I need an answer." Tommy spoke up after a long pause. The inspector looked between Tommy and Stella "Very well, but I'd prefer if we don't shake hands on it." he grumbled. Tommy stood "Now why would I shake the hand of a man who didn't even fight for his country?" Stella slowly rose as well. "I'll be seeing you again, Inspector." she assured him. She followed after Tommy.
