The truth

Today I finally get to leave the hospital or at least that's what the doctors told me. Darren used to tell me I could go out but he was always lying. I never once left that house. I had to watch from the windows while everyone played and grew up together without me. When I was younger he used to tell me that it was too dangerous out there but as I grew up he just beat the question out of me.

That ass whole never let me run out. Raina spit.

"Well now that we're out once we escape this place I'll find us somewhere you can take over and run free in." I told her through our link.

As she was about to respond the sound of pattering feet fill the quiet air around me. Then another set of feet, slightly bigger. I knew who the bigger pair was. I've heard that sound every day since I've been here. It's been almost a week I think. Suddenly the door flew open and I hid myself under the blankets. This only caused a tiny giggle. I've never heard this voice before.

Being extremely wary, I peeked out from the blankets to peer at a beautiful little girl. My guard that I held up so high disintegrated in a mere second as I looked at her small form. I was snapped out of my daze, however, when I heard I voice I had grown entirely accustomed to.

"I told you not to run in here like that. You'll scare her!" Fay reprimanded.

The little girl grew a small pout on her face as she turned to look at the irritated look on Fay's face. She had her hands on her hips and a look that showed she wasn't messing around.

A couple days ago that face would've scared me but this week Fay has done nothing but try to help me. She's shown so much kindness that I couldn't even comprehend it. I hadn't seen that since my parents passed away.

She isn't going to hurt me. Maybe one day she'll turn on me like he did but for now I'll just have to keep my guard up and try to trust her.

"But I just wanted to see Alec's mate!" The little girl told her.

Just hearing his name made my heart race.

Alec hadn't come back since the first day I arrived here. I would say I'm glad but something inside me is telling me that I know it's a lie. It's probably Raina, knowing her, actually. I've expected him to come but never once has he even checked in on me. Though lately I have dreams about him. It's been every night. He comes to see me and we sit and laugh while talking about the strangest things as if we've known each other our whole lives and then he tells me he has to go so that I can wake up. But that's not before he gives a heart melting kiss to my forehead. I can feel it though. The kiss, it seems to linger there even when I wake up. Almost as if he were really there at that moment. I could even feel the small sparks on my finger tips as he pulled out of my grasp.

But I know it's just a dream. If he was really here my heart would pound from the fear he always causes.

"He was right you know." The little girl stared, snapping me out of my thoughts. "You really are one of the prettiest girls I've ever seen."

Her pretty blue eyes seemed to sparkle as she gazed at my from my bed side.

"Oh no, I- uh." I was completely lost for words.

"Genesis, this is our little sister Mavis. Mavis, this is Alec's mate, Genesis." Fay introduced.

"Mate?" I questioned.

"Oh. You? You don't? Oh..." she looked completely shocked. "Alec should talk to you about this. I'll go-"

"No! Please don't . No men please." I whimpered.

Mavis stared at me with confusion clear in her expression.

"You don't like Alec?" I shook my head no very quickly. "Alec's very nice. My big brother is so awesome and funny. You have to like him!"
