Ruby laid in bed thinking about her friends and family. She missed them and wondered what they were doing to find her. She was curious where she was but knew better then to ask. They wouldn't tell her anyway. Besides, she had resolved not to talk to anyone. Even Neo, who was as close to a friend as she could get in this place.

She thought about how long she'd been there. She counted the days and was slightly surprised to realize she had been imprisoned for a month. She thought about the few nights she had been free from Torchwick. For whatever reason he hadn't come, she was glad.

She looked at the clock and realized it was 10:00 p.m. 'That's strange," she mused. 'Torchwick usually gets here around eight. I guess he's not coming tonight.'

Relief flooded her until she fell asleep.

***********

Neo stood over Ruby as the young girl slept. She pulled the blanket up to the sleeping girl's shoulders. She glanced around the room. Anger coursed through her body. How could she have let this happen? How could she have allowed Torchwick to do this to an innocent little girl?

Neo unlocked the handcuffs and lifted Ruby carefully off the bed. She changed her appearance so she looked like a faunus guard and changed Ruby look like another.

She opened the door and snuck as quietly outside as she could. She got to the street and ran down it. When she was sure she was far enough away she changed back to normal, pink and brown hair cascading down her back.

She didn't stop running until she reached the gate in front of beacon. There she sat Ruby down in the grass and caught her breath.

They stayed there for a few minutes before Neo picked up the brunette and carried her around the building. She saw a light in one of the dorm room windows. She sat Ruby down and started throwing pebbles against the glass pane.

Finally, a girl with black hair and a bow on her head opened the window and looked down. Neo picked up Ruby and showed her to the girl, who quickly turned to tell her roommates what it was.

When she turned back around she shouted, "stay there!" And ran off. Neo put Ruby down again and sat waiting. Soon enough, she saw three girls come running toward her and she stood.

One of the girls saw the sleeping girl and dashed ahead, leaving her companions behind. "Ruby!" The blond hollered.

She was quickly beside Ruby, crying as she hugged her. Ruby was startled awake and it took her a moment to realize where she was.

"Yang?" She quivered unbelievingly.

"Yes Ruby," the blond answered. "It's me." The younger girl started to cry and hugged her sister close.

"Thank you for bringing her home," Neo heard someone say. She turned to see the other two girls. The mute
smiled and nodded. She pulled a piece of paper out of her pocket and handed it to the white haired girl. Then she turned to leave.

"Wait," a voiced stopped her. She turned back and saw Ruby standing next to her. The newly freed girl threw her arms around her and gushed, "thank you so much, Neo. Thank you."

Once Neo got over the initial shock she gave her a quick hug before running off. "Good-bye." Ruby called. Then she went back inside with her friends, her sister's arm draped around her shoulder.
