#1: Lunch [One Shot]

"A sandwich and a glass of water? Really Kenny?" Cartman glances at the blonde boy's meal and cries of laughter. Kenny silently glares at the boy who sat across from him and continued eating his peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

"Jesus Christ, Kenny! You're so fucking poor!" Cartman wipes a tear off his face as he chugs down his bottle of Dr. Pepper. A small feeling of jealousy began invading Kenny's heart.

'I wish I had a decent lunch.. I wish I had fruit snacks or chips to go with my sandwich.. I wish I had something other than water to drink..'

These thoughts overflowed Kenny's mind. Sadly, he couldn't have any of those things he wanted. His family was simply too poor to afford more than sandwiches and water. Besides, his family probably doesn't even care. Kenny sat in his seat sulking, putting his lips around the rim of the glass cup, letting the last few drops of water hit his tongue.

As kids begin going outside for recess, Kenny stayed sitting in his seat clenching his stomach, hoping it would make his tummy grumbles go away. He stared down at the floor with his head down. He listened to the other kids play around outside on the playground, the sounds of laughter and cheer ringing in his ears. Frustrated yet sorrowful sighs escape his mouth, his stomach begins to grumble louder. Kenny hugs his stomach tighter, upset moans tremble out through his lips.

"Oh hey, Kenny!"

A voice speaks his name, Kenny looks up to see a blonde boy, hair color lighter than his, wearing a teal shirt, holding a blue and white lunchbox. It was Butters, one of his classmates.

"My Mom made a bit too much this mornin' and I didn't know who to share it with, haha." Butters giggled, "May I sit here?"
Kenny nodded and scooted over to make space for his classmate to sit. Kenny and Butters haven't really talk to each other much before but now since they were classmates, they communicated more and more as days of the school year goes by.

Butters takes a seat and opens his lunchbox. Inside was a simple ham and cheese sandwich, salted almonds, baby carrots, pear slices, a chocolate pudding cup, and one pouch of strawberry kiwi flavored Capri Sun.

Kenny's eyes widen, look at all of that food! Butters splits his sandwich in half and gives one to the boy beside him. "Feel free to eat whatever you like, Ken! Just don't eat the pudding, we're gon' be sharing that." Butters smiles as munches on his sandwich. Kenny stares at Butters in awe, this was so overwhelming! Kenny's lips slowly form into a smile, he begins eating the other half of the sandwich.

"...Thank you."
